



IEG STAFF CONFERENCE AT NEW THEATRE: JAZ AMPAW-FARR INSPIRES IEG TO BE ‘10% BRAVER’ FOR LOCAL STUDENTS
The event, themed Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Exceptional, opened IEG’s 2025 Staff Development Week. Staff from Peterborough College, Stamford College and University Centre Peterborough came together to reflect on progress, celebrate achievement and build skills that directly benefit local students and communities.

As part of IEG’s ongoing investment in its people, the conference also forms part of a wider focus on staff wellbeing, highlighted recently in a national Telegraph feature on how forward-thinking organisations are prioritising mental health, inclusion, and connection to improve performance and retention. The Group’s dedicated Wellbeing Wednesday programme during this week offers practical, evidence-based activities to promote staff resilience and engagement - outcomes that research shows directly benefit students.

PETERBOROUGH COLLEGE APPRENTICE WINS NATIONAL BEST APPRENTICE AWARD FROM ICME
Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), is celebrating national recognition after apprentice Ronnie Pratt was awarded Best Apprentice 2025 by the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers (ICME).
The award, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Founders, honours the most outstanding apprentice in the UK’s cast metals industry and was presented at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire.
IEG DRIVES GREEN SKILLS AGENDA AT CPCA REGIONAL CAREERS CONFERENCE
Inspire Education Group (IEG) was proud to contribute to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Careers Hub Conference on 2 July, where education, business and local leaders came together to explore how best to prepare young people to develop green skills for the future world of work.
As a key contributor, IEG supported a workshop focused on integrating green skills into careers education, sharing best practices with secondary and Special Educational Needs (SEND) schools, employers and key regional stakeholders. The session also provided an opportunity to highlight IEG’s flagship investment in sustainability education: the new Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College. Set to welcome students later this year, the Centre is a £13.5 million facility that will deliver cutting-edge training in retrofit, electric vehicle systems, low-carbon construction and alternative heat technologies, supporting the region’s transition to net zero.

HEIDELBERG MATERIALS DONATES TWO TRUCKS TO PETERBOROUGH COLLEGE

LEVEL 3 FASHION STUDENT WINS THE NORFOLK ART AND DESIGN COMPETITION
Level 3 Fashion student Niamh Brown at Stamford College has been crowned the winner of the Norfolk Art and Design Competition 2025!
Niamh’s work was exhibited at Norwich University of the Arts, St Georges Building, alongside other outstanding entries, including fellow student Rose Cuthbert, whose brilliant work was also shortlisted and showcased!

STAMFORD COLLEGE PUBLIC SERVICE STUDENTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN MOROCCO
Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services students from Stamford College recently returned from a life-changing volunteering trip to Morocco, where they partnered with local charity Open Hands to support under-resourced communities.
Student Olivia Griffiths shared, “I thought Morocco was a very eyeopening experience. Volunteering with the orphans, school children, and children with disabilities taught me new skills and gave me a better understanding of how different cultures live. Open Hands was a very good organisation to go with— especially Abdul, who helped guide us every step of the way.” She also noted the enjoyment of excursions, including visits to local waterfalls and a water park.

Sydney, one of our talented Motor Vehicle Apprentices who recently had the honour of meeting Sir Keir Starmer, was selected as one of just ten Halfords staff members to take part in a special two-day course at the Pirelli Tyre Factory in Carlisle.
A fantastic opportunity to build specialist skills and gain behind-the-scenes insight at a leading global brand.

UCP SOCIAL SCIENCES ALUMNI RETURN FOR NETWORKING CONFERENCE
We were delighted to welcome back our Social Sciences alumni to University Centre Peterborough for a networking conference on campus.
It was a fantastic day hearing about the amazing career journeys our graduates have taken, from roles in the NHS to careers in policing and so much more.
