CATHERINE WALKER Case Study My name is Emma and I am 29 years old. I have been uncomfortable with myself for the last 10 years and never had the motivation to go on a diet despite many times of trying and failing. However with a weight of 94.4 kilograms and height of 170cm, it was clear I was in an unhealthy zone. After going through heartbreak I decided to change things that were making me unhappy. I wanted to feel self confident, be more energetic and athletic. I adopted a healthier lifestyle by incorporating interval training and healthy eating habits. My journey has gone through several stages and I have lost a total of 21 kilograms over the year. I plan to lose another 10 kilograms in the next few months. Adpoting a plant -based diet helped me regain control of my mental and physical health. It was a fairly easy change to make as I had already cut down on certain foods for ethical reasons. Along with interval training, I lost the first 10 kilograms fairly easily, without feeling that I was on a diet.

However then I reached the first stage of stagnation. I decided to count my calories which helped me lose a few more kilograms, but I was left craving food. The second stage of stagnation arrived after having lost a total of 15 kilograms and this is when I reached out for help. I saw information about the Reset Program with Catherine in the Skypark e-newsletter and had two sessions before Christmas. I was advised to try a plan tailored specifically for me based on a vegan Keto diet and included a program of intermittent fasting. I tried different periods of time to see what worked best for my body and avoided any frustrations or cravings. Eating at 12pm and fasting until 6pm followed by a 30 min session of cardio around 8:30pm has helped reset my metabolism. It is different for everyone – this plan is individually tailored to me - specifically my body type and lifestyle. I had reached a point of stagnation - a weight loss plateau, and Catherine has helped me regain control of the weight loss, and now the journey continues...
