DANCE/GYMNASTICS WINTER CLASSES

DANCE DIVAS

A fun beginning dance class where students will learn Ballet warm-ups, Jazz/ Hip Hop dance and Tap steps! Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital

Get ready to move and groove in our Dance Fitness class! This energetic and fun-filled class combines Zumba, barre, and hiphop dance workouts to give you a total body workout Enjoy the rhythmic beats of Zumba, the strength and grace of barre, and the high-energy moves of hip-hop. Perfect for all fitness levels, our Dance Fitness class is designed to improve your cardiovascular health, build strength, and boost your mood Join us and dance your way to a fitter, happier you!

GYM STARS

Be a gymnastic star! Learn cartwheels, handstands, rolls, round-offs, and much, much more! Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital

TUMBLE BUGS

This class safely introduces basic gymnastics balances, rolls, springs and rotations while also developing a dance foundation Children improve motor skills and coordination in a playful atmosphere Beginning dance moves help develop rhythm, spatial awareness and self-confidence. A variety of props add to the fun! Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus Students may dance barefoot or wear ballet shoes

Comedy and laughter are contagious in this entertaining program that combines drama, comedy and improv Theatre games, costuming and props set the stage for a fun-filled time Program culminates with a show for family and friends! Material varies from short plays to comical sketches

RBA co-ed Gymnastics camp is open to 5 to 10 years old The camp focuses on all aspects of the gymnastics performed on mats and apparatus with emphasis on fundamental skill development from the beginner to the more experienced Campers should bring snacks and a water bottle

This parent-child class is a great introduction to gymnastics, teaching skills such as movement, balance, coordination, agility, and games. DEVELOPING ENGINEERING:MACHINES & CONTRAPTIONS

Learn about LEGO® engineering through this interactive Machines and Cool Contraptions Camp! Campers will get the tools to understand mechanical movement through building machines like race cars truly, spin art devices, windmills, catapults, and more using LEGO® Technic bricks, motors, and batteries. Check out your creations up close as you follow instructions to build crazy contraptions to play with The camp will develop new design ideas, test out physics concepts, and even play fun building games with friends!

GAMEBOTS ROBOTICS AND CODING

Calling all gamers and robotics fans! You'll have a blast creating robotic games you can play in this interactive Snapology camp! Campers will take part in friendly competitions, as they make a robotic hockey players, pinball machines, go karts, etc Get ready to compete to see if you and your robot are GameBots Masters!

POKEMON STEM WITH LEGO WORKSHOP

Come build with Brick Tech and become the ultimate Pokémon master In this workshop, participants will build Pokémon inspired projects out of LEGO® while learning about STEM concepts Design your own Pokémon, train for battle in the LEGO® gym, and unlock the secrets of LEGO® Pokémon eggs Get ready to train for the ultimate LEGO® Pokémon battle.

LEGO ULTIMATE TRAIN WORKSHOP

Join Brick Tech this spring as we plan, build, create and test LEGO® projects with working trains! In this new offering we will explore STEM concepts relevant to all things locomotive in nature Participants will build guided projects such as a train station, mail hook and a manual track switch All projects will interact with the Train while providing an opportunity for hands on learning and learning through play, as well as peer interaction Don’t miss this opportunity to get your LEGO® lover on the right track to speed ahead in this new offering from Brick Tech

GAME DESIGN WITH MAKECODE

Designed for students aged 8-12, this course goes beyond traditional programming classes Powered by Microsoft's innovative platform, students will not only learn foundational coding concepts but also design their own virtual arcade games Our emphasis on user experience sets this course apart, as students learn to create intuitive and engaging games while honing their skills as thoughtful programmers Get ready to watch your child's technical prowess and creative thinking soar in this immersive and collaborative setting! This course is beginner-friendly, but will challenge and engage students of all programming levels.

Designed for the youngest programmers (ages 6-8), this course introduces children to the fundamentals of coding through playful exploration. As they bring dancing characters to life and create their very own interactive games, our little coders naturally develop critical thinking and problemsolving skills But this is more than just a coding course it's a platform for self-expression and creativity, fostering curiosity and a love for learning With a mix of digital activities and unplugged play, we ensure a wellrounded and engaging experience By the end of this journey, your child will have taken their first steps into coding and gained the tools to grow and thrive as curious, lifelong learners

Grab your tennis racket and get ready to play! SOCCERTOTS

Playable on almost any surface, these soccer-themed motor skill classes are very easy for youngsters to get into Classes focus on developing motor skills and self-confidence Core soccer skills are taught as well as an introduction to light competition. Instructor-to-student ratio is kept small to maximize individual development, and above all else we promote fun, fun, fun! Parent participation required children under the age of 3 5 years

This parent-child class develops gross motor skills and coordination pertinent to the game of basketball Repetition permits children to build their confidence and esteem. Activities include organized games that help children develop skills and learn to follow directions

TAI CHI

Tai Chi is an internal form of Chinese Martial Arts known for its slow, graceful movements and breathing techniques. It has become a popular form of exercise all over the world Like most exercises, practicing Tai Chi can help one improve one's strength, flexibility, circulation, and relaxation.

YUAN CHI

Enjoy this unique form of exercise Traditional Chinese dance brings energy, enjoyment, and well-being to the body while the mind enjoys the harmony of the music, bringing peace and balance

YOGA GENTLE

This gentle and slower pace yoga class allows you to practice strength, flexibility, and balance while allowing enough time in each pose to experience the mind-body connection This class can help improve breathing, balance, and self-awareness Even though gentle yoga isn't "beginner yoga," the pace allows us to cover several variations, and everyone is welcome to join!

CHINESE FOLK DANCE

It is never too late to learn Chinese Folk Dance An experienced volunteer Chinese Folk dance instructor leads this group You will learn various Chinese Folk Dances and have the opportunity to perform in community center events Anyone can join if they need any experience. A fun dance experience while learning a bit of Chinese culture and making friends

QUILTERS

Our R.O.C.K. Afterschool Program at Welch Park offers a safe and supportive environment for youth to participate in healthy recreation and play, enrichment and STEAM activities, and receive homework assistance. At Welch, participants from ANY school can enroll, however, must be dropped off at Welch Community Center daily. (K.R. Smith participants are picked up at bell dismissal.)

PRESIDENT’S BREAK CAMP

At Camp San José, campers participate in an unforgettable day camp experience combining camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, and embark on weekly field trips.

In this safe and supportive environment, campers participate in active and engaged learning projects, skill building, youth voice and leadership, and learn healthy choices and behaviors.

Price includes a low leader to camper ratio of 1:10, field trips* , a Camp San José shirt, and much more!

*Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available.
