ARTS & CRAFTS WINTER CLASSES

Calling all toddlers! This beginning class is an introduction to ART, with fun activities, coloring, drawing & painting with a Pre-K teacher & parent. PRESIDENT’S BREAK CAMP @ BASCOM

At President’s Break Camp at Bascom, campers participate in an unforgettable day camp experience combining camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, and embark on weekly field trips.

In this safe and supportive environment, campers participate in active and engaged learning projects, skill building, youth voice and leadership, and learn healthy choices and behaviors.

Price includes a low leader to camper ratio of 1:10, field trips* , a Camp San José shirt, and much more!

*Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available. Campers need to bring water, lunch and sunscreen each day sanjoseca.gov/recreationcamps

Looking to take Wheelchair basketball to the next level? Join our competition class, this is for individuals looking for more of a challenge and are looking to be a part of the competitive team. No sports chair, no problem; we have extra sports chairs available on a first-come, first-served basis Tournament opportunities are available for big gamers Don't miss out! Participants must be able to function in a 1:10 staff to participant ratio, and be independent with personal care needs.

POWER SOCCER

Do you use a power wheelchair? Join one of the three classes with the San Jose teams in the electrifying and growing sport of power soccer! Whether you just want to learn the sport or aspire to compete in future tournaments, this is the program for you Participants will learn power soccer techniques, develop skills, practice drills, and prepare for competition

If you’re a beginner with two left feet, an Intermediate dancer with basic knowledge, or an advanced dancer who knows complex stepsthere is a level for you!

$5 contribution is recommended per meal.

Branden Ngyuen

Recreation Leader

Branden Nguyen has been working at Bascom Community Center as a Recreation Leader for 3 years now. He is primarily involved in our fitness program, but he also assists with special events, such as the Egg Hunt and our annual Halloween BOO Bash He enjoys sports and spending time outdoors with his family and friends. Branden’s favorite sports are Football and Basketball He also likes to go on hikes, go to the beach, and enjoy nature.

Emiliano Perez

Recreation Leader

Emiliano Perez has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services team for 2 years! He is a great addition to the Bascom Community Center Emiliano has worked with several programs from Camp San Jose, Fitness Center, Teen Center, Therapeutics, and R O C K After-school program. He has shown his true commitment to the City of San Jose and has been extremely helpful with any and all programs.
