Pastel Drawing Workshop (Ocean Life)

Five, fun-filled days await our students as we explore ocean life, and they learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions each day, focusing on a different ocean-themed subject We will draw eye-catching sea stars along the shoreline and a pair of vibrant clown fish. Monthly Social: Ramen Noodle Night

Join us for this night, where participants can make their own hot bowl of ramen noodles. We will have participants assist with the prepping of chicken, eggs, mushrooms, bok choy, green onions, and more. We recommend that participants bring an apron. This program is geared towards adults with disabilities, but anyone can join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff-to-participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

Monthly Social: Sweet Crepe Night

Join us for this night where participants can make their own sweet crepes and help with prepping various toppings such as fruits, ice cream, and for a twist, participants can add their choice of cereal into the mix! We recommend that participants bring an apron. This program is geared towards adults with disabilities, but anyone can join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff-toparticipant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

Monthly Social: Tye dye Night

Join us for this night where participants can have their choice of tie-dyeing different items to any coloring of their choosing. We will also provide the option of using fabric markers. It is recommended that participants bring an apron or wear old clothes they don't mind getting stained. This program is geared towards adults with disabilities, but anyone can join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff-to-participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

THERAPEUTICS MAYFAIR

HIRLN: Karaoke Night at Round 1

Grab your microphone and sing! H.I.R.L.N. (Head Injury and Recreation Leisure Network) group will be heading out to Eastridge Mall Round 1 for a night of showing off those singing skills. Participants may sing solo, duet, or as a group. We will meet inside Round 1 near the front desk area. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff to participant ratio and be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have an attendant present.

Join us for a night of painting a beautiful canvas lead by an experienced instructor. There may be limited parking and aprons will be provided at the location. THERAPEUTICS MAYFAIR

Tasty Treat Corner

Bring your appetite! For this class, participants will learn basic food prepping skills for simplified snack-type meals such as sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, and much more. Participants will be instructed to follow the recipe and the instructor while learning to use some kitchen utensils and measuring devices. This class is open to all skill levels. Participants are encouraged to bring aprons and will be given a personal chef’s hat. This class may be a mix of standing or seated. This class is geared towards individuals with disabilities, but anyone may join. Participants must be able to participate in a 1:8 staff-to-participant ratio and be independent with personal care needs or have a caregiver to assist. *Time, dates, and day will be updated online.

Come join us at Mayfair Community Center for some arts and crafts fun! Throughout the program, participants will improve fine motor skills, increase social skills, and learn to expand their creativity. Each class will be guided by a City Staff. This program is designed for groups of individuals with disabilities.

It's back, our Annual Spring Fling Egg Hunt! We invite families of the community to join us for a day of fun! There will be arts & crafts along with a photo opportunity with our Bunny! Also be on the look out for golden eggs to win special prize baskets. Participants need to register before event. No day of event registration will be accepted. If you have a basket please bring it with you.

TEEN CENTER TEEN CENTER

Teen Center @ Mayfair is a safe space for Teens to be themselves and to spend their days after school. Join us as we offer bimonthly field trips, clothing giveaways, a courtyard for soccer, volleyball & basketball, pool tables, a computer lab, video game systems from PS5 to Nintendo Switch, and Citywide year-round sports leagues!

PRESIDENT’S BREAK CAMP

At Camp San José, campers participate in an unforgettable day camp experience combining camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, and embark on weekly field trips.

In this safe and supportive environment, campers participate in active and engaged learning projects, skill building, youth voice and leadership, and learn healthy choices and behaviors.

Price includes a low leader to camper ratio of 1:10, field trips* , a Camp San José shirt, and much more!

*Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available. Campers need to bring water, lunch and sunscreen each day sanjoseca.gov/recreationcamps

Camp San José is a license-exempt program.

Ruth Perez has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department for over 10 years! Ruth’s journey with the city has come full circle; she originally started as a Front Desk staff member for Mayfair, and she now leads the team as the Mayfair Supervisor!

Ruby has been a valued staff member for Mayfair Community Center for over 7 years! Ruby loves her community, which is reflected in the quality of her work that she accomplishes at Mayfair. Ruby also loves watching movies and taking care of her plants

Therapeutics Specialist

Alexis is passionate about providing all-access programming for her therapeutic participants here at Mayfair Her eclectic personality is reflected in the fun and varied programs she offers. She is our most stylish staff member in the back office, and enjoys thrifting in her free time.

Cecillia, or Cece as she is fondly known by our Older Adults, has been with the City for over 10 years! Cece’s compassionate and accommodating personality certainly shines when she interacts with our beloved Older Adults here at Mayfair. A true California girl, Cece enjoys road tripping around the state when she has free time

Youth Specialist

Luis has been a huge asset in growing our Teen Center since he first joined the Mayfair team three years ago Luis has a genuine passion for working with teens, offering them programs such as competitive sports leagues and girls’ clubs, which let our teens’ talents shine. Luis also enjoys supporting our local sports teams.

ALEXANDRE GALLARDO

Rental Coordinator

Alexandre has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services team for over 5 years! Alexandre has prior experience working with R.O.C.K. and Senior Programs at Evergreen and is currently the Rental Coordinator here at Mayfair. In his free time, Alexandre enjoys coaching lacrosse at SJSU and Mitty High School.
