Watch in awe as their pencils whirl across the paper, drawing everything from yummy taffy apples to charming seasonal scarecrows, and bunnies full of sass. Playable on almost any surface, these soccer-themed motor skill classes are very easy for youngsters to get into Classes focus on developing motor skills and self-confidence Core soccer skills are taught as well as an introduction to light competition. The week concludes with a final performance and when available, a chance to cheer during a Skyhawks sports scrimmage! Young chefs will explore the many connections between cooking and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math(STEAM) Young chefs will also learn what makes certain ingredients so super for the body and how delicious they can taste while practicing basic cooking skills and techniques on their way to becoming super chefs! It’s Stop-Motion Madness! In the mornings, you’ll create up to five new stop motion movies using a different medium each day! Animate with ducks, with green screen, and new for 2025 film with anime characters! Then in the afternoons, make a Minecraft Stop Motion MOVIE with your favorite Minecraft Characters! Program Information

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is available Monday-Friday on school campuses from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m., except school holidays, breaks, and inservice days.

Payment Options

R.O.C.K. Afterschool payment options include a one-time payment in full or quarterly or monthly auto pay. A Punch Pass for 10 site visits to R.O.C.K. will also be available for students. Scholarships are available for those who qualify; awarded as funding is available. Please contact your local community center for information about scholarship opportunities.

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is a license-exempt program.

Meet Daniel! Daniel has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood services team for 14 years! Daniel has worked in a variety of different programs, at locations all over San Jose. Daniel enjoys rooting for the Raiders, even though they always break his heart On his free time, Daniel enjoys to cook, watch tik toks, and spend time with family and friends.

Meet Vicky! Vicky has been with the City for about eight months, working in the summer camp programs at Bascom Community Center before transitioning to the Senior Nutrition Program at Evergreen at summers end. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active at the gym, exploring hiking trails, and unwinding with my favorite TV shows.
