ELEMENTARY ART - YOUNG REMBRANDTS

Let's make this back-to-school season a masterpiece! Young Rembrandts' drawing lessons will ignite your child's creativity and sharpen their artistic skills. We'll tackle creative projects like a detailed gumball machine, a mouthwatering sandwich, and a dazzling Egyptian headdress that will whisk your artist back in time. Baby ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. A variety of music and props such as scarves and teddy bears keep your little one entertained Parents may stay for first 10 minutes of class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration Suggested attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus Students may dance barefoot or wear ballet shoes

This class features a mix of dance styles including ballet, jazz and tap. Students learn the basic ballet positions, barre and centre exercises, jazz isolations, traveling movements, and basic tap steps such as shuffles, rhythm exercises, and springs Parents are invited to end of session presentation! A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. This engaging class introduces toddlers to a classroom setting while fostering connection among families With guidance from experienced staff and active parent or guardian participation, children will enjoy age-appropriate activities that spark curiosity and creativity-like music and movement, arts & crafts, sensory play, and story time in a welcoming space. No need to be potty-trained-just ready to play! Please dress children in comfortable clothes and closed toe-shoes for safety Only registered children may attend Come join the fun!

BOO! SPOOKY HAUNTED HOUSE LEGO® WORKSHOP - BRICK TECH

Put on your Halloween costumes and get ready to build the spookiest haunted house ever, completely out of LEGO®! In this workshop, participants will get to spend the ghostly holiday building and creating with LEGO®, discovering new ways to make spooky creations Please note: Costumes must not cover face and should not include any accessories/weapons.

COMBAT ROBOTS - SNAPOLOGY

Do you think you can build the strongest and most agile robot to win a head-to-head combat mission? Students will learn engineering strategies for building sturdy structures using LEGO bricks, motors and remotes. Kids will battle their bots in friendly competitions and learn how to maneuver their bot perfectly Students will have a blast playing robot football, having robot races, taking part in obstacle courses and completing the hoop challenge in this fun robotics class

At Camp San Jose, campers participate in an unforgettable day camp experience combining camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, and embark on weekly field trips.

In this safe and supportive environment, campers participate in active and engaged learning projects, skill building, youth voice and leadership, and learn healthy choices and behaviors.

Price includes a low leader to camper ratio of 1:10, field trips*, a Camp San Jose shirt, and much more!

*Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available. Campers need to bring water, lunch and sunscreen each day. TAI CHI

The tai chi class is open to beginners, intermediate and advanced practicioners. After a warm-up session involving all class registrants, the class will split into a beginners group and an intermediate/advanced group, each group to be led by a dedicated volunteer. The beginners will work on the basics of Yang style tai chi. They will learn the names of and practice individual forms or movements and incorporate them into a sequence of forms to comprise the 24-form tai chi. The intermediate/advanced sessions will comprise of several kinds of lessons: (a) refinement of the 24-form tai chi, (b) learning and practicing other forms of tai chi: 13-form, 37-form, 42-form, 108-form, (c) learning and practicing sword and fan forms of tai chi. POLICIES

REFUND/ TRANSFER POLICY

Refund and transfer requests need to be made in writing. Refunds and transfers will be given for requests received at least 14 calendar days prior to the start of the program/class. No refunds or transfers will be made for cancellations received by the City less than 14 calendar days prior to the start of the program/class. There will be a $10 refund processing fee for EACH activity. We do NOT prorate refunds for any classes missed.

LEISURE CLASS POLICIES

Our method of registration is designed to offer equal access to all San José residents.

Customers can register for any class at the PRNS facility or online.

The City does not guarantee participation from one session to the next. All online, walk-in, mailed, faxed registration will be treated in the same manner. San Jose residents will be given first priority to register. Registration forms will be processed in the order they were received. If a class instructor is absent or a class is canceled due to inclement weather, a make-up class will be added to the end of the session.

The City of San José, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) encourages and supports the participation of individuals with all ability levels in programs and services.
