In loving memory of Mark Kuzio, we at Whitetail Club want to express our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the Kuzio family. All of us here and within the community are very saddened by Mark's sudden loss and the void he will leave behind in our daily lives. - The Whitetail Club Family
Dear Whitetail Club Members.
As we wrap up an action-packed August, we have a lot of great things to look back on. The Men's Invitational was an exciting competition that led to the new Kings of the Course. Check out the Winners Circle on page 7 to view all who carried a trophy home this past month. The summer concert and Luau were among the most well-attended events of the summer, and after selling out the last 9 & Dine event, we added another to our line-up. Mark your calendars for September 21 if you have not had the opportunity to play in this fun tournament.
As we look ahead to September, we have a kaleidoscope of activities with golf, culinary experiences, and outdoor adventures on the calendar, all focused on fun and camaraderie. Starting with the 2-Day Couple's Ryder Cup, which is open to all combinations of couples at all skill levels on the hunt for two days of games and socializing. Chef Marcus takes us back to class with Grilling 106, where the theme is "On the Bone." Then, we gather at the clubhouse for a Member's Only Wine Dinner featuring selections from Long Shadows. See the full menu on page 7. The last weekend of the month includes a Fall Foliage Canoe Ride, where we have a guided ride up the North Fork of Payette River. The last weekend of the month includes a Fall Foliage Canoe Ride, where we have a guided paddle up the North Forth of the Payette River.
Marina season is coming to an end soon, and what a summer it has been! For those of you with boat slips in our marina, please contact our Club Concierge desk to arrange for assistance in pulling your watercraft out for the season.
It wouldn't be summer without Buy & Build season, and this one is the busiest to date. Thanks for your patience as contractors make their way in and out of the community. The growth is exciting, but please get in touch with me if you're experiencing any inconvenience. Speaking of growth, our phase 3 roll-out of Legacy Ranch has resonated nationally with inclusions in Mansion Global, The San Francisco Chronicle, and right here at home within our current community. Members are showing interest in these expansive homesites, with a few pending sales already underway. If you are considering exploring Legacy Ranch’s possibilities, now is the time to tour with one of our real estate sales team executives.
As the preparation for Phase 3 continues and the infrastructure is completed, you’ll see large machinery consistently navigating throughout the property. We appreciate your patience through this process, and we are here to discuss any issues with the contractors should the need arise.
In closing, I want to warmly welcome our newest members, David Schneider & Suzanne Franklin, and Craig & Rhonda Coles. If you see them, please say hello. I look forward to seeing you around the club.
Best regards,
Joe Robinson

Interior Inspiration
September is when the tranquility of late summer turns into the start of Fall, a season of brilliant colors and cooler temps. We have taken inspiration from Home & Gardens magazine's recent round-up of décor trends for 2024*, focusing on warm, earthy tones and nature-inspired touches that seamlessly combine comfort and style. Whether you want to welcome Fall by updating the indoors or seek new adventures outside, we have you covered!

Warm Earth Tones and Rich Textures
This Fall, embrace terracotta, deep browns, and burnt oranges as key colors in your home décor. Pair these tones with rich textures like chunky knits, velvet pillows, and woven throws to create a warm, layered atmosphere.
Deeper shades of green, like sage, are making a splash in home offices and bathrooms. For a welcoming entryway, layer warm-toned doormats featuring rustic browns, deep burgundies, and leafy prints on top of outdoor rugs. This touch instantly elevates your front door, making it festive and stylish.
And as the days grow shorter, lighting plays a big role—searches for cozy sunrooms, soft ambient lighting, and unique candle arrangements are trending this year.
Nature-Inspired Accents
Bringing nature indoors continues to be a strong theme for fall 2024. Decorate with dried botanicals like pampas grass, wheat stalks, and eucalyptus for an organic, rustic look. Adding natural wood elements, stone pieces, and pinecones enhances the autumnal vibe, giving your space that perfect cozy corner feel. Indoor plants are also having a moment, with searches for air-purifying varieties up 850%—a great way to keep your home feeling fresh as you settle in for the cooler months.
Here are some indoor plant suggestions that are low maintenance and pet friendly.
• Monstera Deliciosa
(Maranta Leuconeura)
• Boston Fern (Nephrolepis Exaltata)
• Spider Plant (Chlorophytum Comosum)

Dear Whitetail Club Members,
As summer draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible season we've enjoyed at our beloved club. The warm days and balmy evenings provided the perfect backdrop for countless memorable moments on and off the course.
The 14th annual Men's Invitational was a resounding success, drawing players from across the country. The competition was fierce yet friendly, embodying the true spirit of our club. Spectators and participants alike marveled at the impressive displays of skill and sportsmanship throughout the event.
The following weekend was the Men's and Ladies Club Championship, a tournament that once again showcased the exceptional talent within our membership. From thrilling long drives to precise putting, the game was a testament to the dedication and passion of our golfers.
Congratulations to all who participated, especially our new club champions in various divisions.
Check out the Winner's Circle to see the full line-up.
Beyond the tournaments and competitions, our summer golf programming has been very popular, specifically the junior's and ladies' clinics. As we look ahead to Autumn, we see some exciting events still to come, including an additional 9&Dine on September 21 and the always-anticipated Fall Classic on October 12.
Thank you all for making this summer truly unforgettable. Your enthusiasm and camaraderie continue to make Whitetail Club an extraordinary community.
Sincerely,
Andrew Elaimy
Dear Whitetail Club Members,
It’s hard to believe that we’re already heading into September. Just a reminder that the golf course will be closed September 9th, 10th and 11th for aerification on greens and tees. This labor-intensive process provides much-needed air exchange and reduces compaction and thatch. Our primary goal post-aerification is to heal the greens as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during that time.
In addition to aerification, we will also begin deep-slicing fairways and rough. This is a slow process that typically takes us until the end of the season. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this important time for our golf course.
As the cooler autumn weather sets in, we hope to see you all out enjoying the rest of the season!
Sincerely,
A conversation with Scott King
Celebrating Five Years of Culinary Excellence
September 20th marks a special milestone for Scott King, the Executive Director of Culinary and F&B at Whitetail Club/Shore Lodge. We caught up with Scott to reflect on his five-year journey, his love for the industry, and what it takes to create unforgettable dining experiences for members and guests.
Q: Scott, congratulations on your 5-year work anniversary! Can you tell us more about your role as Executive Director of Culinary and F&B?
A: Thanks! My role covers a lot—I'm responsible for both front-of-house and culinary operations. My main focus is keeping our identity solid and staying true to the brand. That means delivering the right atmosphere and flavors, whether it's through our regular menus or special events. There's always plenty going on, and it takes a collaborative effort across the team to maintain the Whitetail Club's premium standards.
Q: Collaboration seems to be key. How does your team stay current with what members want?
A: Definitely, teamwork is key. We stay closely tuned to member feedback. For example, themed nights like Caribbean or BBQ have been a big hit at Whitetail Burger Co. this summer. These menus were in high demand and gave us a chance to break away from the usual offerings.
Q: You've also hosted some remarkable wine dinners. Can you share more about that?
A: Our wine dinners are always unique. We love featuring local wineries, like Bledsoe Family Winery, and pairing their wines with dishes that really complement the flavors. These dinners allow us to experiment a bit more. And then, of course, we have staples—like our sushi roll at The Clubhouse. Members love it so much that I think we'd be in trouble if we ever took it off the menu! It's all about finding that balance between innovation and tradition.
Q: What's your favorite style of cuisine to work with?
A: I'm a big fan of infusing American Continental cuisine. It's a modern take on traditional cooking, blending influences from French and Asian cuisine. It's refined but versatile, allowing us to get creative while still delivering familiar flavors.
Q: Outside of the kitchen, what do you enjoy most about living in this area?
A: I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I have two dogs—Auggie, a mixed breed, and Nugget, a Newfound land. Walking them is my favorite part of the day—it's when I find the most peace and clarity. In the winter, you'll find me up in the mountains, and in the summer, I'm either on my mountain bike or out on the lake, soaking in everything this incredible valley has to offer.
Q: Family is clearly important to you too. Can you share a bit about them?
A: My family is everything. My son, River, just graduated college and is now a pilot, and my daughter, Tyler, is starting at the University of Arizona. They've grown up around the beauty and adventure of this area, and I'm really proud of them.
Q: As you look ahead, what excites you most about continuing in your role?
A: It's the relationships. Whether it's welcoming new members or deepening connections with familiar faces, I'm always looking forward to building those relationships and delivering the experiences that people expect—and deserve.
Scott, with his team, shown on far right.

Behind The Build
Episode Two
For generations, dating back almost a century, the Rowan family has spent countless summers and winters in McCall's famed outdoors. Recollecting on their childhood adventures and the fond memories of raising their own children in McCall's mountain lake oasis, their one desire was to continue this legacy. Amidst the vast wilderness and promise of the West, the Rowans embarked on the journey to not just build a house but rather to create a true home. With inspiration from the Evergreen model, one of our seven Design Build Collection homes, the Rowans had a clear vision: create a sanctuary that accommodates their ever-growing family and construct a home that was as breathtaking as the surrounding views.
In episode two of our Behind The Build series, we delve into the personal journey of the Rowan family as they collaborated with their skilled team of builders and architects to conceptualize their mountain modern home in the Pacific Northwest. Spanning over two years and projected to be completed in Fall 2024, take an inside look at how the Rowans' deep-rooted connections in McCall led them to construct a home in Whitetail Club. Watch the film here:
We know the owners of Whitetail. I have a pretty good feel of what their vision is for the club, which is important. They're well-grounded in what they want to do with the facilities, the club, and the grounds while keeping it family-centric, which is important to us. Given our background, our history, and our legacy, this is not building a home in a country club; it's building memories in McCall, which is what we strive to do."
