Dear Whitetail Club Members,

It’s hard to believe we have been saying see you in December or in the Spring. Our summer season has come and gone too fast. We sincerely hope you enjoyed the experience thus far and are making lifelong memories with your families. Fall is upon is us but we are a four-season club that is here to serve you at your leisure. We still have several upcoming events for your enjoyment before the snow begins to fly! Be sure to review the hours of operation adjustments listed on page 10.

October starts with Whiskey in The Bar on Friday the 3rd and the Underground Dinner on Saturday the 4th. No registration necessary for the whiskey experience and it is of course not too late to register for the dinner. We are excited to welcome you into a new space for this one. We promise, it is heated! For more information, please see your Member portal.

Only 12 days left in our golf season! We hope you’ll be able to join us for an extended Fall Classic weekend starting on the 10th we before we officially close on the 12th. The weekend will include a fun 18-Hole Par-3 Contest, 18-Hole 2-Person Scramble, Member Mixer, and a Ball Buster on Sunday, before the course closes for the season. Players and non-players are welcome to join us for Saturday’s Member Mixer for a delectable spread accompanied with our specialty cocktails crafted by Kim! Cannot thank Nick and his team enough for the consistency of our course conditions this season as well as the enormous effort it takes to put the course to bed properly for the winter months. Won’t be long before his team is providing smooth corduroy!

September’s feature focused on the Cellar, October is no different. If you have not been to Walla Walla – put it on your list. With over 300 days of sunshine, this extension of the Columbia Valley is making worldwide headlines for their juice and Abeja is part of the reason. We’re excited to welcome them on the 25th into the Narrows Steakhouse. Registration is open in the portal.

All great Clubs are built on relationships and communities that you as Members help create. We cannot thank you enough for the continued support and helping us introduce our newest Members, Kameron and Alison Rezai to McCall. We look forward to them joining us over Christmas!

Big Creek Airstrips leads to the historic Big Creek Lodge and world-class wilderness hikes. Big Creek also has multiple options for food, sleep, and fun things to do that generally attract pilots, hunters, and fishermen. For those wanting to discover exciting things like rafting and fishing, Thomas Creek Airstrip provides entry to the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Don’t forget to bring your swim suit as the Sunflower Hot Springs are another popular “hot spot” at this location. Destinations like these will allow you to swap long drives for an adventure, showing you, the beauty and adventure that surrounds us in McCall.

If you want to know what private aviation means to our community at Whitetail Club, ask Rich Rogers. He loves flying off into the beautiful backcountry around McCall in his Cessna 182 Skylane. Idaho’s backcountry airstrips offer a special one-of-a-kind experience. Rich shared, "Since being a member of Whitetail Club, I’ve seen an uptick in air traffic during Idaho’s pristine summer, spring, and fall seasons. It’s a growing sport, and the Club is perfectly positioned near the McCall Municipal Airport.“

We also have members, like Don Jefferis, who pursued and earned his pilot certification. If you don't know where to start with private aviation, it's okay. Buckle up and book a session with a flight instructor. Considering McCall Municipal Airport location to Whitetail Club, it's an ideal destination to start learning aviation, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident.

Tee Time

Seeing many of you still in McCall this fall has been great! We closed the summer with our final 9 & Dine of the season. Congratulations to our co-winners, team Bedell & Donerkiel. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Last month, our grounds crew team completed the annual aerification on the greens and tees. Their work was thorough and efficient, and conditions are already improving as the turf recovers. The final weeks of October are a great time to enjoy fall golf. Here are a few reminders as you head to your next tee time.

Please check the tee sheet or call the Golf Shop for updates before morning rounds.

Start time is 9am to account for cooler mornings.

Open once frost has cleared.

Finally, I welcome you to join us for the season-ending Fall Classic. Festivities begin Friday, October 10th at 3:00pm with the 18-Hole Par 3 Tournament. Saturday, we have our 18-Hole 2-Man Scramble at 1:00pm followed by the Member Mixer in the Golf Grille. On Sunday, Nick will host the annual Ball-Buster with tee times available all day. All events will have a $20 cash buy-in. Registration is open in the portal or simply call the golf shop.
