The Glen Resort Enhances Guest Experience While Strengthening Local Connections

The Glen Resort, a long-standing destination on Hood Canal, has recently completed a series of renovations aimed at elevating the guest experience and supporting the region’s growing tourism economy. The updates reflect a commitment to thoughtful reinvestment, regional partnerships, and a deeper connection to the unique character of Mason County.

Upgrades began with amenities designed to meet the needs of today’s travelers. High-speed wifi, complimentary coffee, and a new camp store stocked with snacks, drinks, merchandise, and essentials have improved convenience and comfort across the property. Shared spaces, including the resort’s lobby, were redesigned to encourage connection, with panoramic views offering a scenic spot for reading, planning adventures, or relaxing with friends.

Guest accommodations were refreshed to embrace the natural surroundings. In addition to updated rooms and suites, the resort introduced Haus on the Hill, a new luxury vacation rental built on an adjacent property. Designed for families, small groups, and special occasions, it offers a more private and flexible option for longer or tailored stays.

Owner Taylor Jacobs shared that the resort’s first year under new leadership was spent listening closely to guests. Their feedback revealed a shared appreciation for the area’s sense of peace, adventure, and gratitude. Those impressions directly influenced the renovation strategy and overall approach to hospitality, which Jacobs described as rooted in what the team calls “Hood Canal Hospitality”—a distinctive blend of passion, generosity, and care that defines the region’s visitor experience.

Improvements extended beyond lodging. The resort’s RV park saw several upgrades, including improved site furnishings, expanded wifi, a dog park, and a small observation deck designed to encourage gathering. Across the property, the goal was to create spaces that support both comfort and community.

The Glen’s updates are also helping strengthen ties with other Mason County businesses. Partnerships with local businesses such as Canalside Gifts, and Wild & Woodsy Catering, bring local flavor and unique experiences directly to guests. These collaborations not only enhance the stay but also contribute to the broader visitor economy by promoting shared success among local tourism providers.

Jacobs emphasized the long-term vision for the property: to be a great place to work as well as visit. That vision includes extending travel beyond the peak season. New lodging options, indoor amenities, and programming—like Saturday movie nights on the lawn—are helping attract visitors in the quieter fall and winter months. By offering options year-round, The Glen aims to show that Hood Canal’s beauty and hospitality extend well beyond the summer.

Looking ahead, more enhancements are planned, including additional lodging and expanded on-site programming. The focus remains on creating meaningful experiences for guests while contributing to the health and growth of Mason County’s tourism industry.

With its recent investments and growing partnerships, The Glen Resort continues to be a valued part of the region’s destination landscape—welcoming visitors, supporting small businesses, and helping shape the future of local travel.
