Summer in Mason County is shaping up to be fantastic! I am so excited about the vibrant events planned, and I wanted to share some highlights and encourage you to participate. Supporting our local businesses is key to our communities continued success, and these events offer wonderful opportunities to do just that.
First, mark your calendars for Sunday, June 28! We’ve got three incredible events happening simultaneously: the exciting Fjordin Crossin & Paddle the Canal in Hoodsport; the Shelton Art Walk, presented by the Shelton Creative District and Shelton Downtown Merchants Association; and MotoAmerica & Rev Country Music Festival at Ridge Motorsports Park. It’s a perfect day to explore our beautiful waterways, appreciate talented local artists, and experience fast cars and great music at our renowned track.
The fun continues! Bluegrass from the Forest is being hosted by Kristmas Town Kiwanis on July 11-13 and features national artists and bands along with jam sessions and workshops for kids. That whole weekend is packed: Saturday, July 12, downtown will be buzzing with the Wheels of Hope Car Show, which is a must-see for car enthusiasts; and for a touch of history and charm, consider attending the Royalty Tea Party hosted by Mason County Forest Festival at the Colonial House on Sunday, July 13. And August is packed with more car shows, Hoodstock, and activities galore.
Don’t forget to swing by the Chamber Expo & Bite of Shelton on Friday, July 18! I’ll be there at the EI. Kristyn & Son Construction, Inc. booth—I’d love to see you. There’s so much planned for the entire summer. Check out What’s Happening on page 22-23 for more fun, local activities to enjoy.
Something else I’d like to bring to your attention is the beautiful flower baskets that adorn Railroad Avenue throughout the summer. They truly enhance our downtown’s charm and bring so much joy. These baskets are funded entirely by community donations and sponsorships. If you’ve admired them as much as I have, and would like to contribute, you can either make a donation or sponsor a basket for the entire summer. Even a small contribution makes a big difference in keeping this tradition alive. For more information on how to support this initiative, please contact the Chamber or visit masonchamber.com/beautification.
Let’s make this summer one to remember by actively participating in our community events and supporting our local businesses. Every purchase, every visit, and every act generosity keeps the heart of Mason County beating strong. I hope to see you around!
Have a wonderful summer!
