From the Desk of A. Beyel

Dear Members, Guests, and Friends,
Spring is in full swing here at Rockledge Country Club, and we’re feeling energized after a needed dose of rain this past weekend! The fresh greenery and cool breezes are welcome sights and perfect for a few extra rounds of golf or friendly competition on the pickleball courts.
As we look ahead to the summer, we want to keep you in the loop about extra maintenance projects happening around the golf course. On Monday April 28th we will need to close the course due to a needed pesticide application. These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the course healthy and enjoyable for everyone. While they won’t interfere with play, we kindly ask that you respect any Tag Marshal guidance or course signage. These small detours help us reduce compaction on the fairways and ensure the best playing conditions all season long.
On a more personal note, we’d like to share that a beloved long term team member has had to step away from her duties due to a personal matter. Her departure was sudden, and we know many of you will miss seeing her warm smile around the club. Her health is our top priority, and she promises to reach out to you when she can.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome many of you to our Easter Brunch, which is quickly filling up! If you haven't made your reservation yet, now is the time to call and secure your spot. Following close behind, we’ll be celebrating all the wonderful moms in our lives with a special Mother’s Day event in May, stay tuned for details!
Thank you for being part of our Rockledge Country Club family. We’re so grateful for your continued support and community spirit.

All my best,

Andrea Beyel, GM Rockledge Country Club

COURSE MAINTENCE UPDATE
April showers? Let’s hope so! It’s been awhile since we have had rain, and it would be a welcome site for sure. We do have the reuse water to irrigate with, but there is nothing like pure rain water to jump start the growing season.
We recently applied a complete fertilizer to the entire course. The days and nights are beginning to warm enough to get some benefit from this application. We have a Curfew application on April 28th. We will be treating 10 acres of fairway areas primarily. Some tee boxes will also be done. Curfew is a slit applied liquid material that turns to gas in the soil. It is used to control nematode populations above tolerable levels. It also will control mole crickets. We will be closed that day as there is a 24 hour reentry interval on this product.
In the near future we will be experimenting with some cart path renovations and/or additions around tee box areas. This will be done to enhance the aesthetics of some of our high traffic areas. The idea will be to create multiple exit points to reduce wear and tear on the turf.
Our first greens aerification of the season will be June 2nd. This is slightly later than normal. We will once again be doing three aerifications using the small tines throughout the summer months. This minimizes the impact on the playability of the greens and also helps the holes recover quicker.
Yours in Turf,
Jerry Yeomans

GOLF PRO UPDATE
We would like to take a moment and congratulate our 2025 Men’s Club Champion Aaron Hattaway on capturing this year’s title on March 8th and 9th. Aaron played a stellar 2nd round of Even par 71 to win the event by 4 strokes over Daniel Adams.
Next up on the Member event schedule is the Men’s Match Play Championship which will be played over the month of April. This is also the main season in which we partner with many local organizations to host their fundraising events, so please make sure and double check your normal tee times as there will be some days that may need a time adjustment.
Our PGA Junior league team has started their season, and they are an experienced group with high goals set for this year, after winning the local Championship last year. Our team is at maximum capacity and filled fast, their season will consist of 6 practices and 6 matches against other local teams, RCC will be hosting two of these matches at our course. Be sure to wish them luck when you see them around the club in their jerseys.
RCC’s 2025 Men’s Interclub Team is just 1 victory away from the State Finals! After dominating the regular season, our team earned the top seed in the playoffs and beat Duran in the first round of the playoffs. Our Team plays Alaqua Lakes in the Semifinals, April 2 on the road and Thursday April 10 here at RCC. A special thanks to our Captain Matt Stevanus for organizing the players and making arrangements each week. nd
Our Assistant Professional Dalton Bartlett will be competing in the PGA Professional Championship at the end of April in Pt. St Lucie. This is a major event that is televised on the golf channel, and the top 20 finishers earn an invite to the 2025 PGA Championship this May at Quail Hollow Golf Club. If you see Dalton around the golf shop, wish him luck!
In the golf shop, we just received a new line of Footjoy shirts in and we also have a nice selection of Footjoy and Nike shoes in stock. Be sure to check out the sale rack as well, you can always find a nice buy here as we have moved our remaining cool weather gear over to the rack as we prepare for our summer inventory.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support of our golf operations!
