Lights, camera, action! Luz, cámara, acción! Cae la tarde y después de algunas tomas de fotos, la conversación sigue en la cocina. El sol se filtra a través del ventanal gigante y los dos se ponen anteojos oscuros. Parodi se relaja en una silla, mientras Pereda, un poco más inquieto, agarra distintas cosas que hay sobre la mesa. Cada uno tiene sus obsesiones. Pereda es muy detallista con el orden y los horarios, quiere que los personajes entren a tiempo y que todo coordine a la perfección. En cambio, Parodi es muy exigente en el casting, trata de buscar caras nuevas y no repetir los actores. Pero ambos conservan la misma pasión: el rodaje. “Por un día de rodaje soporto cosas que en el cotidiano no, como levantarme muy temprano, filmar con mucho frío o mucho calor, trabajar catorce horas seguidas. Y cuando termino de filmar, me gusta tomarme unos minutos para ver la envergadura de lo que armamos”, agrega Pereda. Pero, ¿cuándo es que el producto final termina siendo exitoso? Su experiencia les marcó que para lograrlo es importante filmar pensando en el momento posterior a la toma y nunca darlas por finalizadas hasta no estar 100% seguros. Además, una vez que terminan el primer offline de una pieza, ambos hacen un testeo particular: se lo muestran a sus familiares y amigos. “Cuando editamos vemos tantas veces lo mismo que perdemos la inocencia que se tiene al verlo por primera vez. Por eso, antes de mostrárselo al cliente es importante hacer un testeo con gente común como referencia del público al que le hablamos normalmente”, dice Pereda, convencido de que así seguirán cosechando buenos resultados.
It’s getting dark and after the photo shoot, we continue talking in the kitchen. The sun comes in through a gigantic window and both men put on their sunglasses. Parodi chills out in a chair while Pereda, a little restless, fiddles with different things from the table. Each one has their own obsessions. Pereda is meticulous with tidiness and schedules, he wants his characters to be on cue and everything perfectly coordinated. On the other hand, Parodi is very demanding when casting, trying to find new faces and not to repeat actors. Both men keep the same passion: filming. “In a day of filming I can stand things that I wouldn´t normally, like getting uo early and shooting fourteen hours nonstop. And when I finish filming, I like to take a few minutes to appreciate the extent of what we’ve done”, Pereda says. When does the final product achieve success? Experience has shown him that to do this, it’s important to think what comes after the shoot, and never wrap it up until you are 100% sure. Besides, once they finish the first offline of a piece, both make a particular testing: They show it to their families and friends. “When editing, we see the same thing so many times, that we lose the innocence we have the first time we watched it. That’s why before showing it to the client, it’s important testing the piece on ordinary people as a sample of a larger audience”, says Pereda, sure this way he will continue to get good results.
