Our first team offers the highest standard of women’s football in Dorset. The FAWNL South West Division One is equivalent to League Two in the men’s competition. Our reserves compete in the Dorset Women’s League.

Poole Town Ladies are a Charter Standard Club. For the fourth season, our first team will be competing in the FA Women’s National League South West Division One.

Last Out Dorset Women's League

FAWNL

Last week the Dorset ladies were in action against a newly formed team within the Dorset Women’s league, Bridport Ladies, coming out 7-1 winners at Milborne St Andrew.

The FAWNL team had a week off from league action and faced Ilminster Ladies in the FA Women’s Cup, sponsored by Vitality.

With no goalkeeper available, two of our brilliant ladies stepped up to the plate. Bev Symes played the first half and Shelley Towers the second.

A brilliant display from both of them prevented Bridport from scoring their chances and getting into the game.

Molly Sumner, who is also part of our brilliant U18’s, managed a brace, Jamie Blazier got her name on the scoresheet and it was raining goals for Emily McDonough who scored 4!

Fingers crossed for another strong performance in the next game against Broadstone Ladies.

An inform Ilminster played some brilliant football including a worldie from Georgia Coward đ&#x;‘?đ&#x;?ź A penalty, calmly slotted away from Sacha Paynter wasn’t enough for the Dolphins đ&#x;?Ź who went out of the cup losing 4-1.

Attention now focuses back on the league as we look towards picking up those first league points of the season.

As always we are pumped and ready for the game today We've had a difficult start to the season but as a team we are still working hard.

With COVID hitting it did disrupt some of our usual training and tactical sessions, but the club and coaches have worked hard to try and make changes we need to support us as players to get learning and pushing us for our first points on the table.

Jessica Ennis When did you first start playing football? I started playing football in school, we didn’t have a female team so had to play with the boys. I then started playing U11’s and played until I was 16. Stopped to concentrate on swimming and started playing again at University 3 years ago.

Your sister also plays football, are you competitive against each other? We are both very competitive, even if it’s trying to beat each other in a sprint in training. But we play different positions.

How did you keep yourself busy during lockdown? I started running a lot which has been good for my fitness coming into this season

How did you keep yourself busy during lockdown?

Kept myself busy by working at Asda part time and doing HITT workouts everyday on YouTube. I also enjoy cycling so did a lot of that too.

What’s your ambition for the season? To be a valuable member of the Dorset team and hopefully win the league!!

Details for the U16 team Our U16 girls continued their brilliant start to the season.

10th October girls won 9-0 against Redlands Bandits.

The girls played some really good football and scored some amazing goals including a few superb team goals.

Goalscorers were: Leah (3), Ali (3), Poppy S (1), Poppy H (1) and Kady (1).

17 October girls drew 1-1 at Gillingham, with Poppy H adding another goal for the season.

Details for the U18 team The girls are proving week after week their progression and how they will be ready for ladies football in no time at all.

Sam and I could not be more proud of their sportsmanship, work ethic and desire to progress. You can see this throughout the whole team.

Although some results haven't fallen for us, the way the girls played and the football was incredible to watch. Watch this space for the next generation!
