TM: My name is Thabani Mhlungu, I was born and grew up in KwaNongoma but now I stay in Durban. I work as an IT specialist, a sports show presenter in a community radio station called Intokozo FM and an actor in one of the popular soapies, Uzalo
PM: How did all this begin?
TM: Everthing began when I came to Durban to study in one of the colleges. Together with my friends we started a campus radio station. We had to juggle studies and working in our radio station.
PM: Has it always been your dream to do more than one job or you were forced by circumstances.
I would be lying if I say I was forced by any circumstances because this has always been my dream. I remember when I joined KNI Radio, I was already doing two jobs. I am driven by passion.
PM: What are the lows and highs of working this hard?
I can only speak of the highs. The industry we are in is not stable, having a job today doesn’t guarantee that you will still have it tomorrow. One needs to always have something that will keep him or her going when it’s a dry season in another department
PM: For one to be able to do what you do and do it successfully, needs to have a strong support structure. What is your?
TM: Always wanting to shine and to be a good represantative of my village, is my support structure. People need to know that their success is not determined by their background. They need to understand that nothing comes easy in life, they need to work hard and study hard in order to achieve their goals.
PM: How do you feed your spiritual person?
TM: I am a Christian,I strongly believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I also believe in tithing and in helping others.
