This race series is for everyone who sails!
If racing is not your thing, check out helping with the Race Committee. No sailing experience necessary! The duties include, writing things down (good penmanship helps); flag waving (we'll help with the colors); people who know how to drive a 22 ft pontoon boat (we'll supply the boat), anchor yankers (only about 10 pounds), folks who would like to drive around in our 16 ft Whaler (just need to get checked out by Harry Smith) or would like to use their own boat to drive around the lake and drop off inflatable marks. We will have qualified PROs (Principal Race Officer) on board to coach if you've never been on a race committee boat before. For more information email dkrippene@gmail.com.
•Great way to try racing without the pressure of a big regatta
Finally, and most importantly, The Calvin Newman Fund is sponsoring a Personal Watercraft (PWC) Youths Safety Seminar October 1, 9:00 to 12:30 PM. The objective of the seminar is to promote and support youth boating safety education and awareness in honor of, and legacy to, Calvin Newman.
