GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE

Dear Members,

Our team has been waiting for season to begin! We love seeing all of our members enjoying their club and boating!

We have so many new yacht members that we have welcomed in the last few months. We are excited about all the events we have for our members as well!

The parking lot will have a new resurface from April 22-24, as we weren’t satisfied with the first outcome. We will email a map of the plan so please keep a look out. All of the electrical is in for the parking gates and after the resurface we will being communicating options for entry and plans.

Just a gentle reminder, now that we are in season, we ask that you please call for reservations to help us better serve you. A call ahead is even helpful so that we can have the table ready for you, if available.

A Family Member Mixer is on the 12th of April. It is a great time to meet new members and cultivate new friendships. We have two pontoons and a Catalina 22 to rent if you would like to go out on the water and don’t have a boat. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are available for use at no charge. Please call the Ship Store if you would like to enjoy this amenity.

Our wine down cruises are starting back up on the Nopkehee. It is a beautiful way to enjoy a sunset with our friends and family. Contact Kayla at KTharrington@shmarinas.com to reserve the boat.

The annual Spring Wine Dinner is a garden themed party on April 13th. It will be a wonderful time and delicious wines and an outstanding dinner prepared by Chef Andres and his culinary team. Please make sure you reserve your spot for this lovely evening.

Don’t forget the wonderful member referral program that we have here at SHPYC. It is a great way to refer friends and family that would like to enjoy the club.

As always, it is our pleasure to serve you.

With kind regards,

chili garlic butter shrimp

Serves: 4-6 People

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 1/4 pounds large shrimp (prawns), shelled and deveined, tails on or off

- Pinch of coarse salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste

- 4 tablespoons butter

- 4-5 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic)

- splash of dry white wine or broth (about 2 tablespoons)

- 1-2 whole red cayenne chili peppers

- 1/4 cup chopped parsley - 1 tsp crushed red pepper

Directions

1. Heat olive oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper to taste and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side (until just beginning to turn pink).

2. Quickly deglaze the pan with a splash of wine or broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the butter, garlic, crushed red pepper and parsley. Toss shrimp through the butter sauce and cook for a further 30 seconds - 1 minute until the shrimp is cooked through (being careful not to overcook your shrimp).
