El verano siempre trae recuerdos. Algunos porque nos quedamos sin vacaciones; otros porque nos pegamos el viaje de nuestra vida; también hay veranos en los que conocimos a personas importantes para nosotros; y otros porque nos animamos a hacer actividades que jamás habíamos hecho.

Por lo general en verano solemos tener más tiempo libre, y cada cual lo emplea a su manera, hay quien duerme hasta las tantas y a quien le gusta madrugar para tener más tiempo para no hacer nada o al contrario para aprovechar el día al máximo.

Así que hagamos que este verano sea especial y nos traiga mil buenos recuerdos. Unos se irán de vacaciones, otros vendrán a conocernos, y no nos cabe la menor duda de que muchos volverán a Euskadi.

The summer always brings memories. Some of us because we did not have holidays; others because we had the holiday of our dreams; there are also summers in which we met important people for us; and others since we made up our minds to do activities we had never tried before.

As a general rule, in summer we usually have more free time, and everybody uses it as they please, there are some who sleep until late and who like to get up early in order to do nothing or on the contrary to make the most of the day.

So let this summer be special for us and bring us thousands of good memories. Some will go on holidays, others will come to know us, and there is no doubt that lots will come back to Euskadi.

TAXI EN RUTA es un proyecto compartido por todas las asociaciones de Taxi de Bizkaia.

Colaboramos en su reparto y difusión y está orientada a los visitantes de Bilbao, Bizkaia y País Vasco en general, con el propósito de mostrar nuestra geografía y dar a conocer lo que en cada lugar se puede buscar, ver y degustar.

El taxi de Bizkaia está a vuestro servicio y allá donde os encontreis teneis un número de teléfono donde poder llamar.

TAXI EN RUTA Bizkaiko Taxi Elkarte guztiek konpartitzen duten proiektua da. Bere banaketa eta zabalkuntzan laguntzen diogu elkarri eta Bilbo, Bizkaia zein Euskal Herrira datozen bisitariei dago zuzenduta. Gure geografia erakustea da asmoa eta leku bakoitzean zer bilatu, ikusi eta dastatu daitekeen ezagutzera ematea.

TAXI EN ROUTE is a shared project by all the Taxi associations in Bizkaia. We contribute to deliver and spreading it and its meant for the visitants to Bilbao, Bizkaia, and Basque Country in general with the intention to show our geography and to make known what we can find, see and taste in each place.

Así mismo y pensando en nuestros clientes, hacemos una relación de 16 destinos con sus precios, con la intención de que sean una referencia válida en sí mismos, o una idea aproximada en distancias equivalentes.

Los recorridos han sido confeccionados tomando como referencia de origen el Aeropuerto de Loiu.

Estos precios corresponden a la tarifa laboral diurna: Tarifa 3: Lunes a viernes de 7h a 22 h Para la Tarifa 4, que corresponde a la nocturna y festiva, el precio de estos recorridos quedaría incrementado en un 10%.

Did you know that in Getxo you are offered guided and theatrical visits, throughout the summer, on Saturdays and Sundays?

El Departamento de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de esta localidad vizcaína viene ofreciendo estas visitas desde el pasado 20 de marzo y tiene la intención de seguir haciéndolo hasta el 31 de octubre.

Bizkaiko herri honetako udalaren Turismo Sailak, martxoaren 20etik eskaintzen ditu bisita hauek eta horrela egiten jarraitzeko asmoa du urriaren 31ra bitartean.

The Tourist Department of the Town Hall of this Biscayan town has been offering these visits since the last March 20th and is going to continue doing it until October 31st.

El patrimonio arquitectónico de Getxo es conocido por todos los vizcaínos, y desde el Ayuntamiento de Getxo, quieren darlo a conocer a todo el que nos visite.

La ruta tiene inicio y fin en el Muelle de Churruca y la Playa de la Bola, indistintamente, y describe a su paso los elementos más representativos, principalmente palacios, villas y monumentos, de la época de mayor esplendor del barrio de Las Arenas.

De urbe eminentemente industrial e incluso tildada muchas veces de “fea” por parte del visitante, la capital bilbaína ha ido poco a poco reconfigurando su status hasta convertirse en referencia dentro del ámbito del territorio vasco.

And it is years (not so many) since Bilbao was presented for many as a grey, sad city with a very high rate of pollution, an estuary, our estuary that it was one of the main affected elements by the growing and constant industrial activity.

Desde mediados de los años ochenta hasta la actualidad la villa ha combinando tradición con modernidad. Hoy en día podemos pasear por el Casco Viejo, cuna del pequeño comercio en Bilbao e irnos adentrando hacia el ensanche donde se encuentran numerosos elementos de la llamada arquitectura moderna y no sólo hablo del edificio diseñado por Frank Gerhy.

From the middle of the eighties until now the city has combined tradition with modernity.

Nowadays we can walk through the old quarter, cradle of the small business of Bilbao, and go into the Ensanche, where there are lots of elements of the so-called modern architecture and I am not just speaking about the building designed by Frank Ghery.

SANTURTZI La primera noticia escrita sobre Santurtzi, se remonta al año 1075 en un documento donde se menciona el Monasterio de San Jorge. Desde entonces, y durante muchos siglos, Santurtzi, ha sido “La bonita Aldea”, remanso de paz con la pesca y la agricultura como forma de vida hasta llegar a finales del siglo XIX, en que el desarrollo del Puerto de Bilbao lo han convertido en un referente social, cultural y económico para la comarca.

Santurtziren inguruko lehenengo albiste idatzia 1075. urtekoa da, San Jorge monastegia aipatzen den agiria hain zuzen. Ordutik, eta mende askotan zehar, Santurtzi, “Herrixka Polita” izan da, bake gunea, arrantzaz eta nekazaritzaz bizi izan dena XIX. mendearen amaierara heldu arte, Bilboko portuaren garapenak erreferente sozial, kultural eta ekonomiko bihurtuz eskualdearentzat.

Recientemente el turismo se ha fomentado como una de las actividades económicas principales de la economía del municipio.

Oraintsu, turismoa, herriaren oinarrizko aktibitate ekonomiko bezala bultzatu da.

Baina Santurtzi ezagutzeko era asko daude eta horretarako, turismo bulegotik, bere iragana, oraina eta etorkizuna ezagutzeko aisialdi aktibitate bat baino gehiago eskaintzen da.

Pero hay muchas formas de conocer Santurtzi y para ello, desde la oficina de turismo, se ofrecen varias actividades de ocio que nos ayudarán a descubrir su pasado, su presente y su futuro.

A través de una visita guiada gratuita, conoceremos una parte de la historia, patrimonio, costumbres y tradiciones de Santurtzi. En en el recorrido se explican lugares con encanto como el Puerto Pesquero, edificios civiles como el Ayuntamiento, la Cofradía de Pescadores y el palacio Oriol, edificios religiosos como la Iglesia de San Jorge o el patrimonio artístico a través de un museo de esculturas al aire libre.

The first news about Santurtzi is from 1075 in a document where el Monasterio de San Jorge (Saint George`s Monastery) is mentioned.

Since then, and throughout the centuries, Santurtzi, has been “La bonita aldea” (The pretty village), a haven of peace with fishing and agriculture as a way of life up to the end of the 21st century, in which the development of Bilbao`s harbour has changed it into a social, cultural and economic referent for all the region.

Lately, the tourism has been promoted as one of the main economic activities for the economy of the town.

But there are lots of ways to know Santurtzi and for this, there are several leisure time activities, from the tourist office, which will help us to find out its past, present and future.

Through a guided free visit, one will know a part of Santurtzi`s history, heritage, customs and traditions. During the tour, places with charm like the fishing port, official buildings such as the Town Hall, the Fisherman`s Association and Oriol Palace, religious buildings like San George`s Church or the artistic heritage through a sculpture museum in the open air are explained.

The sea and the estuary, the reasons to be a commercial harbour and fishing port can be found out through a ride on a sailing boat along the Basque coast in half or full day, Bilbao`s estuary, knowing its industrial past and the

Mucho que contar y mucho para que tu lo veas. Sitúate en Bizkaia, en la zona más occidental y allí encontraras la comarca de Las Encartaciones.

Tu visita puede comenzar en Sopuerta. El Museo de Las Encartaciones (antigua Casa de Juntas de Abellaneda) es el punto de partida de todo visitante que llega por primera vez a la comarca. Hace siglos, los representantes de los valles y concejos de de Las Encartaciones se reunían en este lugar. Un poco de historia para empezar.

Pero en Encartaciones encontramos otra villa, Lanestosa, con sus estrechas callejuelas empedradas en las que conviven regios palacios de los siglos XVII y XVIII con las casas de carácter popular en la que destacan los balcones corridos repletos de flores. Desde Lanestosa, accedemos a Koben Koba un centro de interpretación del arte paleolítico europeo ubicado en una cueva natural.

Si lo que te gusta es la naturaleza, Artzentales con sus bucólicos paisajes y el parque natural de Armañon entre los municipios de Karrantza y Turtzios te permitirán practicar senderismo

Para seguir disfrutando de la naturaleza, la localidad de Alonsotegi te ofrece la posibilidad de disfrutar de largos recorridos de montaña a través del monte Pagasarri, donde podemos contemplar sus neveras construidas en el siglo XVII para abastecer a Bilbao. Y no solo eso, Orduña se nos presenta como “la ciudad en movimiento”. Y es que no pararas una vez estés allí, puesto que tiene más de una maravilla por descubrir.

Eta ez hori bakarrik, Urduña “dabilen hiria” bezala aurkezten zaigu. Egia esan, behin bertan zaudela, ez zara geldi egongo, gauza bat baino gehiago dituelako ikusteko.

This second town, is located at the bottom of a mountain range at 40 km from Bilbao and Gasteiz. Orduña belongs administratively to the region of Arratia-Nerviòn, although its nature and its landscape share the valley with the bordering region of alavesa de Ayala.

Mencionábamos las maravillas con las que cuenta Orduña. Una de ellas es el nacimiento del rio Nervión. Este nace en la Sierra de Guibijo y se precipita por Peñas Nervinas formando una espectacular cascada de 270 metros a la garganta de Délica y, tras cruzar el valle por el Este, se desliza por Orduña arrastrando aguas de arroyos.

This is born at the mountain range of Guibijo and falls down the Peñas Nervinas making up an amazing 270metres fall to Delica`s gorge and, after crossing the valley through the East , it flows by Orduña sweeping away the water of the streams. You will be flabbergasted.

En el año 1997, este casco histórico fue declarado bien cultural por el gobierno vasco, con la catalogación de conjunto histórico-monumental. Y es que se trata del mayor casco medieval de Bizkaia, el cual alberga numerosos monumentos religiosos y civiles dentro de un recinto fortificado entre murallas. La iglesia de Santa María, la de la Sagrada Familia, el Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Antigua, los palacios de Ortés de Velasco, Mimenza, Diaz de Pimienta y el palacio Velasco, edificios como La Aduana o la misma Casa Consistorial y la plaza de Los Fueros o el monumento del Txarlazo, son algunos de los que puedes visitar.

En agosto, celebran el día de San Román en la calle Orruño y el día de San Roque en la calle Barria. La fiesta de la Antigua se celebra el ocho de septiembre en el barrio de La Antigua.

Y además de estas, hay celebraciones el día de San Pedro, el 29 de junio en Lendoñogoiti (fin de semana correspondiente), el 3 de agosto, fiestas de San Esteban en Lendoñobeiti, fiestas de San Miguel en Mendeika el último fin de semana de septiembre y las fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, primer fin de semana de octubre en Belandia.

Situada al este de la comarca de las Encartaciones, en Karrantza, encontramos uno de los lugares más bellos y singulares de Bizkaia.

Es la Cueva de Pozalagua. La variedad de luces y formas que inundan este espacio ancestral y mítico provoca en el visitante una sensación de asombro y admiración. Este enclave está considerado único y además, percibido como especial debido a su riqueza de estalactitas excéntricas que forman estructuras caprichosas, frágiles pero sobre todo originales venciendo las leyes de la gravedad.

Located in the eastern region of the Encartaciones, in Karrantza, we find one of the most beautiful and singular places in Biscay. It is Pozolagua`s cave. The variety of lights and shapes with which this mythical and ancestral space is filled cause a sensation of astonishment and admiration to the visitor.

This enclave is considered as unique and besides, is understood as special, owing to its richness of eccentric stalactites that make up strange structures, fragile, but above all original vanquishing the law of gravity.

Las mejores barras de Bilbao y Bizkaia tienen cada primavera una cita ineludible: la Muestra de Bares que otorga el más preciado galardón que pueden obtener: la Txapela bordada en oro que acredita su calidad. Sólo otros dos accésits (con bordado en plata) y cinco premios, entre ellos el competidísimo de mejor tortilla, se disputan los cerca de cien participantes. Un evento gastronómico que el resto del año es disfrutado por los clientes de los bares y los visitantes de nuestra tierra.

Bilbo eta Bizkaiko barrarik onenek galdu ezin duten zita daukate udaberri bakoitzean: jaso dezaketen saririk garrantzitsuena ematen duen Tabernen Erakusketa, urrearekin bordatutako Txapela ematen duena, bere kalitatea egiaztatuz.

La Pintxo Astea, periodo central de la prueba, supone un motivo de peregrinaje por las diferentes rutas que se organizan con los inscritos. Espacios que son la imagen de la gastronomía de barra de nuestra villa, posiblemente una de las mejores de España. Desde luego el Casco Viejo, con sus zonas principales de la Calle Santamaría y la Plaza Nueva; y ahora la calle Somera, entre los mas jóvenes. En el centro, vertebrado en torno a la Gran Vía, calles Diputación y plaza Eguillor, o la calle García Rivero e Indautxu; son un cúmulo de locales de pintxos, poteo (tomar vinos con los amigos) y tapeo de alta calidad.

En Bizkaia destacan la zona de Durango, los márgenes de la ría (Erandio, Getxo o Barakaldo, Santurtzi en la orilla opuesta); y en la zona de Urdaibai, Gernika y Bermeo como puntos fuertes de esta disciplina, la del pintxos, que exige imaginación y maña. Aquí preferimos los pintxos “de mano” a la “cocina miniatura”.

La localidad guipuzcoana de Zestoa cuenta desde septiembre de 2008 con Ekainberri, la réplica de lo que es la cueva de Ekain, cueva conocida por sus pinturas de la época Magdaleniense, patrimonio artístico del paleolítico.

Gipuzkoako Zestoa herrian, Ekainberri dago zabalik 2008ko irailetik. Ekaineko kobazuloaren erreplika da, Magdanela garaiko haitzuloetako margoengatik ezagun egin dena eta paleolitiko garaiko ondare artistikoa dena.

La cueva de Ekain fue hallada en 1969. Hasta entonces sus pinturas habían permanecido ocultas, refugiadas en el frágil microclima de la cueva, en condiciones idóneas para su conservación. El hallazgo fue tal, que se quiso enseñar a todo el que quisiera, pero, había que encontrar la manera de no dañar lo que en Ekain se mantuvo durante milenios. De esta manera, nació Ekainberri, lo que podemos considerar una réplica de Ekain.

Ordurarte bere margoak ezkutatuta egon ziren, kobazuloaren mikroklima hauskorrean babestuta, baldintza egokietan bere mantentzerako. Hain aurkikuntza handia izanik, nahi zuen guztiari erakustea erabaki zen, baina, Ekainen mendeetan mantendu zena ez kaltetzeko modua bilatu behar zen. Era horretara jaio zen Ekainberri, Ekaineko erreplika kontsideratu daitekeena.

Ekain`s cave was discovered in 1969. Up to then the paintings have been hidden, sheltered in the fragile microclimate of the cave, in ideal conditions for its preservation. It was such a discovery that it was shown to whoever wanted to see it, however, they had to find a way that it would not damage what had been preserved in Ekain for millenniums. And like this Ekainberri, what can be considered Ekain`s replica, was born.

Al entrar en ella, seguro que te sientes como si estuvieras en la propia cueva. Las visitas se hacen en grupos pequeños, haciendo que cada uno cree su propia visita interior mediante los sentidos.

Además, los fines de semana y los días festivos se ofrecen exhibiciones en las que se explica y enseña cómo cazaban, pintaban y hacían fuego los seres humanos que habitaron Ekain. Son exhibiciones gratuitas con la entrada del día en la que los visitantes conocen cómo eran las personas que pintaron la cueva y como consiguieron subsistir. Si te acercas tendrás la oportunidad de intentar hacer fuego, o cazar con lanza... y te darás cuenta de que no es tan fácil como parece.

Ekainberri también ofrece la oportunidad de visitar la Exposición de Arte Parietal del País Vasco, situada en el mismo edificio y que se visita con la misma entrada. Es la oportunidad de profundizar en el modo de vida prehistórico.

Comenzando con el cómo se descubrió la cueva de Ekain mediante videos, imágenes y programas multimedia, podrás conocer las cuevas más destacables del arte parietal a nivel mundial y del País Vasco o el trabajo de los arqueólogos.

En esta sala de exposiciones el visitante también tiene una biblioteca especializada en arqueología, prehistoria y arte parietal.

La capital de la comarca es Tolosa, una villa fundada en 1256 por el rey castellano Alfonso X el Sabio, que según la costumbre de la época, bautizó a la nueva villa con el nombre de otra localidad ya existente y con un notorio prestigio, como era el caso de la ciudad francesa de Toulouse cuyo nombre latino y occitano es precisamente Tolosa.

Un recorrido por La Edad Media Ibilbide bat erdi arotik A tour through the middle age

ARABA Euskal Herria cuenta con multitud de atractivos turísticos y muchísimos lugares que visitar. La provincia de Araba es uno de ellos, y dentro de ella, sus villas medievales. A continuación te ofrecemos la posibilidad de hacer un recorrido por algunas de estas localidades.

Recordemos antes que Araba es, desde la prehistoria, tierra de paso: de calzadas romanas, caminos de peregrinos, de rutas comerciales entre la meseta y el Cantábrico.

Labraza, por ejemplo, destaca por su posición dominante sobre su comarca. El rey navarro Sancho el Fuerte fundó la villa como bastión del Reino de Navarra frente a Castilla. Los lienzos y torres de la muralla defensiva medieval, son hoy, tras nueve siglos de historia, parte de las viviendas de la villa y de la vida de sus habitantes. Podemos afirmar que la muralla habitada de Labraza es símbolo identitario de un colectivo social. Por todo lo mencionado, Labraza obtuvo en el año 2008 el World Walled Town of the Year.

Labraza, for example , stands out for its dominant position over the region. The king of Navarra, Sancho el Fuerte, founded the town as a bastion of the kingdom of Navarra against Castilla. The canvas and towers of the defensive medieval walls, nowadays, after nine centuries of history are part of the houses of the town and of the life of its inhabitants. We can affirm that the inhabited wall is the identitary symbol of a social collective. For everything here mentioned, Labraza got in 2008, the World Walled Town of the Year.

Euskal Herria holds lots of tourist appeals and lots of places to visit. Araba`s province is one of them, and within it, its medieval town. Here we have the possibility to do a tour through some of these places.

En el hermoso valle de Arana, nos encontraremos con otra villa que también ocupa una posición dominante, nos referimos a Contrasta. A su muralla se adosan la iglesia fortificada y la antigua cárcel. La ermita románica de Elizmendi contiene lapidas romanas de origen incierto.

In the beautiful valley of Arana, we come across another town, that has also got a very dominant position, we are referring to Contrasta. The fortified church and the old prison are attached to its wall. The hermitage of Elizmendi has Roman`s tombstones of uncertain origin.

La villa medieval más antigua del País Vasco, Salinas de Añana, fue fundada para proteger sus eras de sal, que hoy constituyen un paisaje espectacular. Su muralla sigue guardando secretos, como las tres iglesias románicas construidas sucesivamente junto a ella.

Fundada para proteger el paso del Ebro, en Salinillas de Buradón aun podemos hoy pasear en torno a su recinto amurallado, recorrer sus calles porticadas de trazado medieval o visitar las ruinas de la Torre de los Sarmiento y del Palacio de los Condes de Oñate.

The oldest medieval town in the Basque Country, Salinas de Añana, was founded to protect the salt paths that today make up an amazing scenery. Its wall is still keeping secrets, like the three Romanic churches built successively next to it. Founded to protect the passing of the Ebro, in Salinillas de Buradon, today we can still walk around its walled premises, go along its streets with medieval porticoed streets or visit the ruins of the Tower of the Sarmientos and the palace of the Condes of Oñate.

de la Portiella, hoy en ruinas, fue disputado por Alfonso VIII y Sancho el Sabio. Al sur de la villa aún se aprecian restos de la muralla que se apoya en el foso natural del río Izkiz.

Las murallas de Laguardia han vivido una tormentosa historia desde su fundación por Sancho Abarca hasta su última reconstrucción parcial en 1874. El recinto fortificado atesora hoy día joyas como la portada de Santa María de los Reyes.

Salvatierra, es una villa de fundación y estructura navarras. Su plano está definido por el trazado de la muralla y por sus dos iglesias góticas. El ayuntamiento creció en torno al edificio más antiguo de la villa, la ermita de San Martín, hoy restaurada.

Por último, Santa Cruz de Campezo también mantiene aun su muralla, eso sí, oculta y protegida por dos hileras de viviendas construidas a su dos lados.

Todas estas villas, cuentan hoy en día con sus murallas y el visitante debe saber que no son las únicas villas medievales de Araba. San Vicente de Arana, Samaniego, Peñacerrada, Retes de Tudela, Orbiso, Oion, Lagran, Legutiano, Marquinez, Labastida, Elciego, Berantevilla, Bernedo, Antoñana, Aramaio, Artziniegay Alegria Dulantzi conforman el recorrido por la Edad Media.

En Viñedos del Contino conviven la tradición y la innovación.

Los modernos sistemas para la elaboración, adecuados a cada parcela para una producción de manera individualizada se unen a las técnicas y conocimientos tradicionales. Se encuentran en un meandro del Ebro, en tierras de La Guardia, en la Rioja Alavesa.

Dominadas y protegidas por el Cerro de la Mesa, cuentan con una orientación y mesoclima idóneos para la crianza del vino, que a la postre son los que dan la personalidad al vino.

Los viñedos crecen en un terreno de 62 hectáreas, en suelos de tipo aluvial. Son franco-arenosos y calizos en las capas más profundas, y arcillo-arenosos, con estructura pedregosa media y alta (cantos rodados), en las capas medias y superficiales. Tienen una gran permeabilidad y capacidad de retención de agua para los momentos más secos.

La edad media del viñedo está entorno a 25 años aunque también se pueden encontrar cepas de más de 60 años.

Las variedades cultivadas en Viñedos del Contino son: Tempranillo (52 ha.)

Graciano (7 ha.)

Mazuelo y Garnacha (3 ha.)

En la bodega predomina el acero inoxidable aunque sin olvidar los depósitos de hormigón y las tinas de roble francés.

Contino Reserva está elaborado con un 85% de Tempranillo, 3% de Mazuelo, 10% de Graciano y un 2% de Garnacha.

Tras dos años en barricas de roble francés y americano permanece otros dos años más en botella hasta su salida al mercado.

Nota de Cata Color rojo granate, intenso con guinda en el borde y lágrima densa y abundante que tiñe la copa, da la sensación de ser un vino muy bien vestido.

En nariz presenta una gran intensidad aromática donde predominan los frutos negros y maduros (cereza negra, ciruela, mora), notas tostadas, regaliz y especiadas. En boca es sabroso con un tanino suave y pulido que dota de elegancia al conjunto. El retronasal remarca las sensaciones de nariz dejándonos un largo final con un recuerdo maravilloso.

At Contino`s vineyards, tradition and innovation live together. The modern systems for the making, adapted to each plot for an individual way of making it, go together with the technique and traditional knowledge which are put into practice by the people in charge of them.

Contino`s winery and vineyards are located on the loop of the Ebro, in the land of Laguardia, in the Rioja Alavesa. Dominated and protected by the Cerro de la Mesa, have an ideal bearing and mesoclimate for the ageing of the wine that in the end are the ones that give personality to the wine.

The vineyards are grown in a field of 62 hectares, in alluvial soils.

They are sandy loam and limestone in the deepest layers and sandyclay type soil with a high-medium rocky structure (boulder) in the medium and superficial layers. It has great permeability and capacity of retaining water for the driest moments.

The average age of the vineyard is about 25 years, although you may also find vines which are over sixty years old.

The variety grown at Contino`s vineyards: Tempranillo (52 hectares) Graciano (7 hectares) Mazuelo and Garnacha (3 hectares) In the winery the stainless steel predominates, although without forgetting the concrete containers and the French oak tubs.

Contino Reserva is made with 85% of Tempranillo, 3% of Mazuelo, 10% of Graciano and 2% of Garnacha. After being two years in American and French oak cask it rests two more years in the bottle prior to being release to the market.

Tasting Note Red maroon colour wine, intense morello cherry at the edge and dense and abundant tear that dyes the glass, it has the sensation of a well-dressed wine, at nose it presents a great aromatic intensity in which the blueberry and ripe fruits (black cherry, plum, blackberry, toasted notes, liquorice and spicy predominate. In mouth it is very tasty with a smooth and polished tannin that provides with charm to all of it. The finish highlights the sensations in the nose leaving a long end with a wonderful memory.

En la parte más septentrional de la Rioja Alavesa, con un clima de transición entre el mediterráneo y el atlántico, se encuentra la Sierra de Toloño. En su falda se sitúan los valles de Valderemelluri, La Granja y Villaescusa. Son terrazas escalonadas que descienden hacia el Ebro.

En esta zona, bien protegida de los vientos dominantes y las heladas, se sitúan los terrenos de la finca Nuestra Señora de Remelluri. 154 hectáreas de tierra arcillo-calcárea, 105 de las cuales constituyen su viñedo.

Este terreno tan peculiar es el que da personalidad a su vino. Son suelos pobres, pedregosos, con capas arcillosas que retienen el frescor y la humedad. Todo ésto propicia una madurez del fruto con finura y equilibrio. El clima de influencia atlántica proporciona abundantes precipitaciones y unas medias de temperatura más bajas que en el resto de la Denominación. La cepa dominante es el Tempranillo, vid autóctona de gran calidad. También se ha recuperado el Graciano.

La plantación tiene una media de 30 años, aunque existen terrazas con cepas prefiloxéricas; la más antigua censada por el Consejo Regulador es de 1876.

Remelluri Reserva tiene un coupage formado por un 90% de la variedad Tempranillo, 5% de Garnacha y otro 5% de Graciano. Ha permanecido durante 17 meses en barricas de roble francés (75%) y americano (25%). El vino fue embotellado entre Abril y Mayo del 2007.

Arabako Errioxan, iparralderantz dagoen aldean, mediterranear eta atlantiar klimen arteko transizioarekin, Toloñoko Mendilerroan dago. Bere hegalean Valderemelluri, La Granja eta Villaeskusako haranak daude.

Ebrorantz doazen terraza mailakatuak dira.

Inguru honetan daude, haize menperatzaile eta izotzaldietatik ondo babestuta, Remelluriko Andra Maria lursaileko terrenoak.

Buztinezko lur karetsuez osotutako 154 hektarea eta hauetatik 105, mahastiarentzat dira.

Remelluri Reserva ardoak %90 tenpranilloz, %5 garnatxaz eta beste %5 grazianoz osotutako “coupage”-a dauka. Haritz frantziarrez (%75) eta amerikarrez (%25) egindako kupeletan egon da 17 hiletan. Ardoa 2007ko apirila eta maiatza artean botilatu zuten.

En nariz presenta una gran potencia aromática donde la fruta roja se une con aromas de maderas finas, destacando esas notas especiadas para envolver el conducto nasal. Complementan el abanico de aromas las notas minerales y balsámicas con un buen fondo.

En boca es intenso, fresco y equilibrado. Con un largo final que deja sensaciones muy ricas y agradables.

In the most northern part of La Rioja Alavesa, with a transition climate between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, it is Toloño`s mountain range. On its hillside the Valderemelluri`valleys, La Granja and Villaescusa are located.They are terraces that go down to the Ebro river.

In this well-sheltered from the dominant winds and the frosts, the Nuestra Señora de Remelluri`s fields are located.154 hectares of claylime soil, of which 105 make up its vineyard.

Such a peculiar soil is which gives personality to its wine.

They are poor and stony soils with clay layers that retain the coolness and humidity.

All of this favours the ripeness of the fruit with delicacy and balance. The Atlantic influence climate provides lots of rainfalls and an average of medium temperatures lower than in the rest of the Denomination. The dominant stock is the Tempranillo, a great quality autochthonous vine.

The Graciano has also been recovered.

The plantation is about 30 years old, although there are some terraces with prephiloxeric vines, the oldest one registered by the Regulatory Council is from 1876.

Remelluri Reserva has a coupage made up by 90% of Tempranillo Variety, 5% of Garnacha and 5% more of Graciano. It has rested for 17 months in French oak barrels(75%) and American one (25%). The wine was bottled between April and May 2007.

Tasting notes Cherry red in colour with great intensity with maroon edges.

At nose it presents a great aromatic power in which the red fruit goes together with fine wood aromas, highlighting these spicy notes to wrap the nasal ducts. The range of aromas is complemented with mineral and balsamic notes with a good content.

Txakoli Uixar toma su nombre de las más de 5 hectáreas de viñedos Ondarrabi Zerratie cultivadas en las escarpadas laderas orientadas al sur del caserío Urizar situado en el municipio de Amorebieta-Etxano.

Esta variedad autóctona se encuentra perfectamente adaptada a las características del clima atlántico, con una media de precipitaciones anuales cercanas a los 1.300 mm, primaveras húmedas, veranos templados y otoño con viento sur para una mejor maduración durante el mes de octubre.

La densidad de plantación es de 3.300 cepas por hectárea.

Tecnológicamente hablando la bodega es una de las más avanzadas, con instrumentos de última generación para obtener un txakolí de alta calidad.

Embotellado con sumo cuidado, el resultado es un vino con una calidad muy alta, una dedicación exclusiva.

El proceso de elaboración comienza con la selección de la uva en bodega, en menos de cuatro horas después de la corta. Despalillada y sometida a criomaceraciones durante 24 h.

El mosto fue fermentado a 14º durante 20 días, una maduración del txakoli en depósito con sus lías durante dos meses con batoneados tres veces por semana.

Nota de Cata A la vista resulta una impecable presencia, limpio, brillante y cristalino color amarillo pajizo con irisaciones verdes, abundante lágrima con buena evolución.

La nariz tiene una alta intensidad aromática, limpia. Sobresale la fruta blanca, flores, esencias balsámicas que recuerdan a menta seca y hierbas aromáticas con recuerdos a anisados.

En boca tiene una entrada suave, sin aristas, con una magnífica acidez que refresca la boca. Con un largo final donde devuelve las sensaciones balsámicas de la nariz.

Uixar txakolinak AmorebietaEtxanoko Urizar baserriaren hegoaldeko maldetan, Ondarrabi Zerratiez landatutako bost hektarea mahasti baino gehiagoko lur sailetik hartzen du izena.

Bertako mahats mota hau, guztiz egokitua dago atlantiar klimaren ezaugarrietara, 1300 mm-ko bataz besteko euriteekin urtean, udaberri hezeekin, uda epelekin eta hegoaldeko haizea duten udazkenekin, urrirako heldutasun hoberena izanik.

Mahatsari kirtenak kendu eta 24 ordu inguruko beratze prozezuarekin. Mostoa 14 gradutara jarri zuten irekitan 20 egunetan zehar, txakolina depositoetan helduz hilabete bitan astean hiru aldiz batoneatuta.

Txakoli Uixar takes its name from the more than 5 hectares of the Ondarrabi Zerratie vineyards grown on the craggy slopes, facing the north of Urizar`s cottage located in the town ofAmorebieta-Etxano.

This autocthonous variety is perfectly adapted the characteristics of the Atlantic climate, with an average of rainfalls of 1,300mm, wet springs, mild summers and autumns with southern winds for a better ripeness during October.

The density of the plantation is 3,300 vines in every hectare.

Speaking technologically, the winery is one of the most developed one, with the most recent instruments to obtain high quality Txakoli. Bottle with really care, the result is a high quality wine, an exclusive dedication.

The process of making starts with a selection of the grape in the winery, in less than four hours after the cut. It is destemed and criomacerated for 24 hours. The grape juice was fermented at 14º, a ripeness of the txakoli in the container with the plaited esparto grass for two months, beaten three times a week.

Tasting notes At sight it has an impeccable presence, clean, bright crystal straw- yellow colour with green lights, abundant tear with good evolution.

At the nose it has a high aromatic intensity, clean. The white fruit stands out, flowers, balsamic essences that remind of the white mint and with aromatic herbs with anisettes memories.

At mouth it has a good entrance, without edges, with a good acidity that refreshes our mouth. With a long finish where the balsamic nose sensations come back.

Hace ya veinte años, un selecto grupo de viticultores decidió retomar la tradición productora de txakoli en la zona norte de Álava, la comarca de Aiara. La calidad del terreno, siempre favorable para la producción se une al clima idóneo para la leaboración del txakoli.

Las variedades de uva cultivadas por la bodega Xarmant son muy adaptables tanto al clima como al terreno: • Hondarrabi Zuri • Hondarrabi Beltza • Petit Marseng • Gros Marseng • Petit Courbu La principal variedad es la Hondarrabi Zuri, siendo el resto variedades complementarias.

La bodega cuenta con la excelente mezcla de vanguardia y tradición.

La tradición se da lugar en el buen hacer de los antepasados que han legado los conocimientos. La vanguardia es sin duda la utilización de las modernas tecnologías para una excelente obtención del txakoli.

Txakoli Xarmant se elabora principalmente con Hondarrabi Zuri, cerca del 80%, el 20% restante corresponde a las otras variedades que cultiva la bodega como complementarias de la principal.

Orain dela hogei urte, mahastizainen aparteko talde batek, txakolina ekoizteko tradizioa berrartzea erabaki zuen Araba iparraldean, Aiara eskualdean.

Produziorako beti ona den lurraren kalitateak eta klima egokiak bat egiten dute txakolina egiterakoan.

Twenty years ago, a selective Group of vine growers decided to take up again the producing tradition of txakoli in the north part of Àlava, Aiara`s region.

The quality of the soil, always favourable for the production is joined to the suitable climate for the making of the txakoli.

The variety of grapes grown

by Xarmant`s winery are very adaptable both to the climate and the soil:

Nota de Cata Color amarillo p´lido, limpio y brillante con reflejos verdosos.

En nariz resalta sus aromas frutales, frescos, propios de la variedad que recuerdan a melocoton, manzana.

Tiene una buena intensidad floral donde surge una buena conjunción con los aromas herbáceos.

En boca es fresco, equilibrado y alegre con ese ligero toque del carbónico.

Es suave y ligero en su ataque pero con un largo postgusto donde los aromas cítricos dejan su buen recuerdo.

Dastatzeko oharra Kolore hori txukuna, garbia eta distiratsua islada berdeekin.

Sudurrean fruten usain freskoak nabarmentzen dira, barietateren ezaugarri direnak, melokotoia eta sagarra gogora ekarriz. Loren intentsitate ona du eta lotura ona bedarren usainekin.

Ahoan freskoa da, orekatua eta alaia, karbonikoaren ikutuarekin.

Gozoa eta arina da baina gusto ondoko luzearekin, non zitrikoen usainek oroitzapen ona uzten duten.

The winery has an excellent mixture of avant-garde and tradition. The tradition is based on the good making by the ancestors, who have passed down their knowledge. There is no doubt that the avant-garde has been the use of modern technologies to obtain txakoli. Always with the guarantee of the best quality level.

Xarmant`s txakoli is mainly made with Hondarribi Zuri, the rest about 80%, 20% belongs to the other varieties which the winery grows as complementary to the main one.

Pallid yellow colour, clean and bright with green reflections.

In the nose, the fruit bouquet, fresh and own which remind of peach and apple are highlighted.

It has a very good floral intensity in which a good conjugation with the herbaceous bouquet emerges.

In the mouth, it is fresh, balanced and merry with that carbonic touch.

It is smooth and light in its attack but with a long after taste where the citric bouquet leaves its memory.

TXAKOLI Hace ya muchos años, treinta para ser más exactos, que llevo trabajando para el Txakoli Vizcaíno. Treinta años, cuando entonces no existía Bialtxa, ni por supuesto la D.O. Treinta años trabajando desinteresadamente, aportando mi granito de arena, para que día a día, el txakoli vaya posicionándose como un producto de calidad en el mercado, alcance la imagen merecida y demos el reconocimiento a todos aquellos emprendedores que desde el principio, plantaron las primeras cepas y elaboraron aquel primer txakoli y también a todos los que recogieron el testigo. Quiero demostrar mi apoyo al consejo regulador, a los txakolineros que también muestran su compromiso y a todas aquellas personas que habitualmente consumen txakoli y que exigen un producto de calidad y critican lo que no alcanza sus expectativas.

Sé que muchos txakolineros van a estar de acuerdo con este artículo, quiero hacer un llamamiento a todos aquellos que vivimos, manipulamos y nos beneficiamos del txakoli, para que defendamos la calidad y rechacemos aquellos productos no registrados, sin una contra etiqueta que avale la integridad del producto. Del mismo modo que no se nos ocurre comprar un vino, de rioja u otra denominación,

It is a long time, thirty years if I have to be accurate, that I have been working on Biscayan Txakoli. Thirty years, when Bialtza did not exit and neither did the guarantee of origin. Thirty years working disinterestedly, trying to do my bit, so that the txakoli can become a quality product in the market day by day, can get the image that it deserves and give the acknowledgment to all the entrepreneurs that from the beginning planted the vines and made the first txakoli and also for all those who got the baton. I want to show my support for the regulatory council, for the Txakolineros(People who usually drink txakoli) that also show their compromise, and for all the people who usually drink and demand a quality product and criticise what does not get their objectives.

I know that many Txakolineros are going to agree with this article, I want to call all the people who live, manipulate and get profits from the txakoli, to defend the quality and to reject those products which are not registered, without a back label, which guarantees the integrity of the product. In the same way as we do not buy a wine, from Rioja or other origin without its back label in which we can recognize the region, the level of making or the vintage year, we should not

Para esto existe el consejo regulador, para proteger y regular el producto, y darle la imagen que se merece, porque es injusto que donde nuestros antepasados invirtieron tiempo, volcaron su amor por la tierra y pelearon contra las inclemencias del tiempo, superando las dificultades tecnológicas de aquel entonces como la falta de conocimientos, hoy en día no reciba el justo aprecio que merece, ahora que si contamos con más recursos, materia prima, conocimientos y avances tecnológicos que garantizan la calidad del producto.

A aquellos consumidores que caen en la tentación de comprar productos sin garantía de calidad, solo por ahorrarse unos céntimos, me gustaría decirles que si todos exigimos legalidad en el txakoli, y hoy nos gastamos un poco más, los precios a la larga serán mucho más competitivos, la calidad mucho más alta y el resultado mucho más satisfactorio.

Hagamos un verdadero homenaje a los que cimentaron la herencia del txakoli apoyando al consejo regulador y a todos a los que a su vez protege.

To those consumers who succumb to the temptation to buy products without guarantee of quality, just to save a few cents, I would like to tell them, that if all of us demand legality in the txakoli, and at present we spend a bit more on it, the prices will be in the long run more competitive, much higher quality and a much more satisfactory result.

Let`s pay a truly homage to those who consolidated the legacy of the txakoli supporting the regulatory council and to all the people that it protects at the same time.

Ver una competición deportiva entre los mejores del mundo, siempre es algo interesante y esto es lo que ocurre cada año en Bizkaia con la KOPA JULIO ALEGRIA al traernos el mejor padel del mundo a Bizkaia. Tanto si somos aficionados a este deporte como si no, presenciar una final de este índole es algo que nos hará vibrar, pero si podemos buscar un hueco en nuestra agenda, lo propio es disfrutar todo el torneo y así poder ver como eliminatoria tras eliminatoria, los finalistas han llegado hasta la gran prueba.

Los encuentros se celebrarán del 25 de septiembre al 3 de octubre en el Real Club Jolaseta de Neguri y las fases finales en el Polideportivo de la Casilla en Bilbao.

Siempre apostando por colocar a Bilbao y a Bizkaia como referente mundial, en este caso en forma de música. La Diputación Foral de Bizkaia y el Ayuntamiento de Bilbao nos obsequian este año con varios “regalos” en clave de sol, ya que entre otras ofertas musicales, tendremos la oportunidad de disfrutar en Julio del estupendo y variopinto BBK Live Festival en el que se mezclarán Rock, Grunge y Pop entre otros estilos, para confeccionar un festival salvaje y con excelente crítica a nivel europeo. Harán acto de presencia Rammstein, Peral Jam o Paul Weller por citar algunos. Con este festival que se realiza año a año deberíamos estar satisfechos, pero, además del citado evento, las instituciones de Bilbao y Bizkaia nos dotan con la vuelta de un grupo que siempre da que hablar: AC/DC.

Beti apostu egiten Bilbo eta Bizkaia munduan erreferente bezala kokatzeko, kasu honetan musikaren forman. Bizkaiko Foru Aldundiak eta Bilboko Udalak aurten “opari” batzuk eskaintzen dizkigute sol klabean, izan ere, musika arloko beste eskaintza batzuen artean, uztailean kolore askotako BBK Live Jaialdi ikaragarriaz gozatzeko aukera izango dugu, non, Rock, Grunge eta Pop estiloak nahastatuko diren beste askoren artean, jaialdi izugarri bat osotzeko kritika ezin hobearekin Europa mailan. Rammstein, Pearl Jam edo Paul Weller izango dira bertan, batzuk aipatzearren.

Urtero egiten den jaialdi honekin pozik egon beharko genuke, baina, aipatutako jaialdi honetaz gain, Bilbo eta Bizkaiko erakundeek beti zeresana eragiten duen talde baten itzulera eskaintzen digute: AC/DC taldearena.

Always betting on having Bilbao and Biscay as a world reference, this time as a musical way.

The Provincial Council of Biscay and Bilbao`s Town Hall are giving us several “presents” in treble clef, since among these musical offers, we will have the chance to enjoy in July the motley BBK Live Festival in which different styles of music like Rock, Grunge and Rock are mixed up, to create a wild festival with an excellent criticism at an European standard.

Rammstein, Pearl Jam, or Paul Weller will be there amongst others. With this festival that is celebrated year by year, we should be satisfied but, apart from the event mentioned, Bilbao and Biscay`s institutions provide us with the return of a band that sets everybody talking: AC/DC.

Podréis decir de ellos lo que queráis: que están mayores, que no llegan al nivel de antes o que repiten permanentemente sus repertorios, pero a pesar de todo, AC/DC es sinónimo de Rock, y dado que sus días sobre un escenario parece que están cada vez más contados, hay que aprovechar hasta la última oportunidad que nos brinden de disfrutarlos en vivo. Por ello nos parece una excelente noticia que, la legendaria banda, vuelva a incluirnos en su calendario.

You might say whatever you want about them: that they are old, that they do not get the standard they used to, or that they repeat the same repertory, but despite of everything, AC/ DC is a synonym for Rock, and as their days on the stage seemed to be getting to an end, we must get advantage of the last opportunity to see them alive. That is why, we think that it is an excellent news, that the legendary band, includes us again in their calendar.

Los promotores, así como el Ayuntamiento de Bilbao y la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia han subrayado que quieren paliar la “frustración” de quienes no pudieron acudir, por problemas en la venta de entradas, al concierto que la banda australiana dio hace 14 meses en el recinto ferial del BEC. Por otro lado, cabe destacar que el grupo se encuentra de gira promocionando sus últimos discos “Black Ice” y su colaboración en la película “Iron Man 2” en forma de álbum recopilatorio.

The promoters, as well as Bilbao`s Town Hall and the Provincial Council have emphasized the fact that they want to alleviate” the frustration” of whom were not able to go, because of the problems with the sale of the tickets for the concert that the band gave 14 months ago in the exhibition site of the BEC.

Bestalde, gogoratu egin behar da taldea bere azken diskoak promozionatzen ari dela, “Blac Ice” batetik eta “Iron Man 2” filmean izandako parte hartzea bestetik bilduma moduan.

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning, that the band is on tour promoting their last records “Black Ice” and their collaboration in the film “Iron Man 2” in a greatest hits album.
