his success may be due to the 80 kilometres of wide, well-groomed ski slopes, the powder snow quality; (near) omnipresent sunshine and blue sky, some great restaurants in the area, the charm of the village, and the hospitality of the locals. Probably a little of each of these rolled into one. And that’s only the beginning! Area owner Luigi Arnaudo’s life is teeming with projects in the years to come. «We’re going to build a large chalet with a modern restaurant at the top of the slopes, at the cable car arrival station. We’ll be opening a new boutique hotel with 12 high-end rooms in the village and a 5-star hotel with 25 luxury suites, a spa, and a restaurant. We will be installing an artificial snow system on all slopes, which will guarantee snow from December to the end of March. A bike park is also under construction and will be ready by next summer, a zip line following shortly after,» he enumerates. One thing is for sure: the resort, founded in 1891, still has a very bright future ahead of it. And visitors who pole plant there will indeed be blessed.
Ce succès est-il dû aux 80 kilomètres de pistes larges et bien entretenues ? À la qualité de la poudreuse ? Au soleil et au ciel bleu (presque) omniprésents ? Aux bonnes tables du coin ? Au charme du village, et à l’hospitalité de ses habitants ? Sans doute, un peu de tout cela à la fois. Et ce n’est que le début ! Car Luigi Arnaudo, le propriétaire du domaine, fourmille de projets pour les années à venir. « Nous allons construire un grand chalet en haut des pistes, à l’arrivée de la télécabine, avec un restaurant moderne. Dans le village, nous allons ouvrir un nouveau boutique-hôtel avec 12 chambres haut de gamme, et un hôtel 5 étoiles de 25 luxueuses suites, avec spa et restaurant. De décembre à fin mars, l’enneigement sera bientôt garanti grâce à un système de neige artificielle que nous allons installer sur toutes les pistes. Un bike park sera aussi construit et prêt, dès l’été prochain… et une tyrolienne suivra peu après », énumère-t-il. Une chose est sûre, la station née en 1891 a encore de très beaux jours devant elle. Et les voyageurs qui y planteront leurs bâtons auront beaucoup de chance…
