Despite much rhetoric from the First Minister about supporting the poorest areas in Scotland, the Nats continue to treat the poorest areas of Peterhead like dirt. Here are a few examples: The Nats Government and Council have just completed a £37,000,000 Community Campus at Alford yet have refused to replace windows at Peterhead Academy for £110,000 leaving Peterhead children to freeze for at least another decade. Inverurie has just started a new Academy at the cost of £40,000,000 with a range of community sports facilities attached. Meanwhile two years after the Victoria Road Pavilion was destroyed by arson, the Nats point blankly refuse to rebuild this Council building despite agreeing a pay out with the Council’s Insurers. Peterhead Councillor Alan S. Buchan said, the above are only a couple of examples of what the non Peterhead Nats are doing to our town. The people of Peterhead need to ask themselves why they continue to vote for those who don’t live in our town.
