CLASP's December activities in Wokingham offer enrichment and entertainment
C
ommunity organization CLASP has unveiled its December timetable, packed with activities for adults with learning disabilities in the Wokingham borough. Throughout December, CLASP will continue to offer its staple activities, including ‘Movie Mates,’ ‘Coffee Shop’ gatherings, and ‘Book Corner’ sessions. Patrons can also engage in ‘Dancing to Music,’ join the ‘Happy & Healthy Club’ for sports and fitness at Wokingham Leisure Centre, explore their creative side in ‘Craft Club,’ or enjoy the social atmosphere of the ‘Evening Drop-In.’ The ‘Active Session,’ ‘Take Notice,’ ‘Puzzle Club,’ and ‘Choir’ are also on the schedule, providing a comprehensive suite of opportunities for community members. Adding to the array of events, there will be a specially arranged disabled swim session at Wokingham Leisure Centre, welcoming all with a disability every Monday and Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm for a nominal fee of £1.70, with carers granted free access. Furthermore, the ‘Board Game’ ses-
sion at Wokingham Library, a non-exclusive CLASP event, continues to be free for all every Monday from 10.30 am to 12 noon. It offers a cozy environment for
games and meeting new friends. Highlighting the month’s events, the CLASP Choir is set to perform at Squires, Wokingham, on the morning of December 9-10. As Squires’ Charity of the Year, CLASP celebrates the opportunity to showcase their choir. Additionally, on the evening of December 9th, the choir will perform alongside the Sing Healthy Choirs at their Christmas concert, an event that often sells out quickly. CLASP group sessions will draw to a close on Wednesday, December 20th, with a range of activities including the sports and fitness session, craft club, and an evening gathering at the Sedero Lounge. After a brief hiatus, the sessions will recommence on Friday, January 5th, at The Bradbury Centre, featuring a visit from a local optician for the ‘Take Notice’ program. CLASP extends heartfelt gratitude to the Wokingham community for their ongoing support, which significantly enhances the lives of adults with learning disabilities in the region.
