ore than 800 runners took to the streets of Bracknell last weekend for the town’s half marathon on its 40th anniversary. The ever-popular race, which is sponsored by the Lexicon and run by Everyone Active, saw Cllr Iskander Jefferies and MP James Sunderland at the finish line at Braccan Walk to hand sustainable commemorative medals out to all the competitors.
Starting in the bustling town, it takes runners on a scenic journey that encompasses both the town’s urban environment and its surrounding natural beauty, with a total elevation gain of 184 meters. The course offered a balance of challenging and flat sections, suitable for both experienced half marathoners and newcomers to the distance. Participants experienced the vibrant atmosphere of Bracknell, along with its green
spaces and community spirit. The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon is more than just a race; it’s an opportunity to explore Bracknell’s unique character and landscape, making it a memorable and enjoyable event for all runners. Much of the route was on roads, footpaths and cycleways, with a short section of grass running for participants to contend with. Continues on page 2
