CELEBRATING THE UAE’S JUBILEE Defending champion Lee Westwood and Major champions Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas came together as part of a photocall that involved a cake in honour of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, a year-long celebration. Some of the city’s most iconic locations – Abu Dhabi Louvre, Emirates Palace and Qasr Al Watan were reimagined as golfing venues and given a golf themed visual makeover to celebrate the Championship. The visually designed images included the roof of the Abu Dhabi Louvre depicted as the top of a tournament branded golf ball, as well as Emirates Palace Garden, Qasr Al Watan and a beach near Emirates Palace featuring greens, bunkers, and natural water hazards as golf fever spreads across Abu Dhabi ahead of the tournament.
