Up on the rooftop lives another world, where microscopic organisms thrive and amaze when seen close up. Nick Withers captured this stunning image of a miniature moss ecosystem, while up a ladder cleaning the gutters on his barn roof in Chulmleigh. “I wonder what organisms are living within it,” said Nick, who is a keen amateur naturalist and photographer. “I’m passionate about wildlife and the beauty of the natural world that surrounds us. I feel grounded when I spend time outside on the moors, coast or in the woods.
