The employee

Health and work environment

Montico strives towards a positive work environment where everyone is met with respect. Employees should treat colleagues in the same way as they want to be treated. Unpretentious. You keep your promises and the communication is open and straightforward. This creates trust at all levels, both internally and externally.

As an employee at Montico, you have a responsibility to comply with the rules and regulations that exist for the workplace. The employee has an obligation to report deficiencies in the work environment that may lead to injury. This is done in Montico’s IA system. It a company overall goal to at least live up to the work environment legislations, the requirements set in ISO 45001 and the goals in work environment set for the business.

Montico has an extensive program of exercise activities to ensure the health and well-being of employees. Montico conducts annual employee performance reviews and employee surveys to ensure that the gols of work environment and health are achieved.

Competence development

The most important resource at Montico is the

human resouce, which is why the company offers competence development in the quest to constantly improve and give employees the security that competence entails. For new employees, Montico has devised an Onboarding program that provides basic training in company organization and operations.

Equality, diversity and equality

Montico gender equality policy states that everyone has the same rights and opportunities regardless of gender, age, ethnic and religious affiliation or sexual orientation. Bullying and harassment are not accepted in any form. In daily work, everyone has a responsibility to recongnice if a colleague is subject to bullying or harassment and, if it occurs, that it is reported to the supervisor or to Montico HR department. The company offers a whistleblower function for both internal employees and external stakeholders where reporting can be done anonymously.

Montico should be a workplace without discriminating salaries. Based on established salary policies, the individual salary is governed regardless of gender, age and ethnic background. The starting point for salary setting should always be the nature of the work, the employee performance and competence. In accordance with Swedish labour law, a salary survey is carried out every year including analysis of women’s versus men’s wages.

Employee Survey 2022

Every year, Montico conducts an employee survey to produce an index (NMI) for the sustainability work that concerns our staff and their work environment. The purpose is to let all employees give their views on different aspects of the employment to make visible areas that should be developed and improved.

About our employee survey

NMI includes 15 different indices or areas, such as corporate culture, management, workload and environment that are reported using a 5-point scale for each area. The survey consisted of approximately 90 questions and the survey was active for 3 weeks. The overall response rate was 96%.

We can see a clearly positive trend from index 3.8 previous years to this recent survey showing a total NMI of 4.2

Main reasons for working at Montico

As a way of describing the reasons given in free text about why employees mainly want to work at Montico, an illustration was created using the words that the employees themselves wrote in the survey.

Cornerstones of our business

Montico employees (internal staff and staffing consultants) are the cornerstones of our business. Our staffing consultants are offered a flexibel job that gives the opportunity to try out different tasks, industries and professions and gain valuable experience. By continuously meeting new people, the consultant’s network of contacts is strengthened, which may lead to new assignments or employment.

Secure employment

All employees, including our staffing consultants, are subject to applicable union agreements regulating rights and obligations. Montico is an authorized staffing company with more than 25 years of experience in staffing. This has made us experts in our fields and is a guarantee that we are a serious and reliable staffing provider.

Human Resourses

Montico HR department works proactively for the good of all employees. In 2022, a new IT system for HR was implemented streamlining processes and routines in HR including OnBoarding when hiring new employees.

Highlights in 2022

IT-training for all staff

During this year, Montico has decided to invest in a competence boost for all employees in the programs and functionalities of Microsoft 365, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The purpose is to further develop digital working methods and increase efficiency.

- We have seen that the level of knowledge varies within the organization and the idea of this training is that we should all have the same basic knowledge to be able to use the programs in a good way. You could say that it will be like a computer driver’s license for us at Montico, says Börje Johansson, CEO of Montico.

Leadership training

In August 2022, a leadership training program for ten employees at Montico HR Partner AB was initiated. The program contains areas particularly relevant to Montico. It deals with what it is like to be a manager at Montico, to lead, control and coach, our values, business acumen, the outside world and strategy as well as labor law and work environment, among other things. The goal of the program is for the participants to develop their personal leadership and to become more secure in their role as current or future leaders.

In order for Montico to continue to grow, we need to strengthen our leadership knowledge and develop more strong leaders. I have wanted for a long time to have a leadership training program like this adapted specifically for Montico so it feels great that it is now getting started.”

Environment and climate

Climate impact and resource efficiency

Montico works constantly to improve our environmental performance as far as is technically possible and economically reasonable. We will reduce our environmental impact and continuously develop our environmental efforts, primarily in the following areas which we have deemed most significant for our business:

Carbon emission

Energy Consumables

Direct carbon dioxide consumption at Montico will be reduced through more efficient planning of business travel, by carpooling if possible and promoting distance meetings instead of physical meetings.

In 2022, ten electric cars were purchased to be used in car pooling by Montico offices. Carbon dioxide consumption has decreased during the year thanks to planned trips, more digital meetings and trips using electric instead of diesel cars. Montico is also reducing indirect carbon dioxide consumption through purchase planning and coordinated deliveries.

Through improved use of resources, our awareness of handling consumables is increasing, done by the digitization of educational and communication materials and the introduction of electronic signing.

One set goal at Montico is to reduce the consumption of office paper, which is measured in number of prints. All employees should consider the necessity of printing. The increase occurred in 2022 is due to the end of restrictions applied during the pandemic and again carrying out business more physically. However, compared to paper consumption of 2019, before the pandemic brake out, our paper consumption has decreased by 144,800 prints.

Installation of solar panels

Reducing the total cost of electricity is an important part of our environmental and sustainability work. Therefore, in 2021 a major investment was made installing solar panels at Montico head office in Tranås. A maximum number of solar panels were intstalled producing approximately 230,000 kWh anually.

Reducing the cost of electricity is also achieved by installing motion detectors during new installation and renovation where possible, switching to fluorescent lamps with low energy consumption and extinguishing lights in unmanned rooms. Computers and digital tools will be shut down at the end of the work.

In 2022, the assignments for our laundry have increased sharply and Montico Service AB has received about 15 new customers for washing work clothes.

Börje Johansson, CEO

It feels good to move to more environmentally friendly means of transport and we see this investment as part of our long-term environmental work. In connection with this, we will also set up more charging posts.”

Sustainable labour market

Proaktiva lösningar

Montico team-based platform of solutions builds bridges between competence shortages, supply and development. Our organization ensures that young people get employment after completing their education and at the same time contributes to equal and inclusive workplaces. By proactively identifying the skills shortages of our customers and developing sustainable solutions, Montico also helps individuals build their skills for the modern world of work and empower them to be employable throughout their professional lives.

With our certifications for quality ISO 9001, environmental ISO 14001 and work environment ISO 45001, we ensure our contribution to a sustainable labor market. Sustainability is also an important part of our authorizations.

Montico will always do business in an open and transparent manner, conducting business by following legal guidelines and ethical rules.

Our whistleblower policy is ensuring that any suspicion of fraudulent behaviour, bribery or other similar situations witnessed is reported without delay and that reporting can be done anonymously without any consequences.

Integrity

Montico protects all personal information received or collected digitally according to rules set out in the EU Directive GDPR. This means collecting, storing, using, processing and sharing personal information and/or data that can identify an individual.

Montico tailors education to businesses in professions lacking competence

There is a shortage of competence among manufacturing industries. Montico concept of recruitment training helps the industries quickly receive the skills they need. Together with each company, we develop training classes where unemployed indivudials get exactly the education and skill the company demands. After completing the training, the company can hire or directly employ each indivudual. This makes recruitment training a flexible and effective way to ensure the company’s supply of skills, both short and long term.

We design the recruitment training together with the company and in collaboration with the Swedish Public Employment Service as a labour market training, or with the municipality of the company as an public adult education. The training takes place at one of Montico’s training facilities. The training includes a number of weeks of WBL, workplace-based learning, where both students and employers get a chance to get to know each other.

During 2022, recruitment trainings have been conducted with Volvo Constructions Equipment AB, Toyota Material Handling AB, SAAB Kockums AB as well as other companies. For Volvo CE and Toyota Material Handling, the focus of these trainings has been to get more women into their production as part of working towards gender equality.
