Climate impact and resource efficiency
Montico works constantly to improve our environmental performance as far as is technically possible and economically reasonable. We will reduce our environmental impact and continuously develop our environmental efforts, primarily in the following areas which we have deemed most significant for our business:

Carbon emission
Energy Consumables
Direct carbon dioxide consumption at Montico will be reduced through more efficient planning of business travel, by carpooling if possible and promoting distance meetings instead of physical meetings.
In 2022, ten electric cars were purchased to be used in car pooling by Montico offices. Carbon dioxide consumption has decreased during the year thanks to planned trips, more digital meetings and trips using electric instead of diesel cars. Montico is also reducing indirect carbon dioxide consumption through purchase planning and coordinated deliveries.
Through improved use of resources, our awareness of handling consumables is increasing, done by the digitization of educational and communication materials and the introduction of electronic signing.
One set goal at Montico is to reduce the consumption of office paper, which is measured in number of prints. All employees should consider the necessity of printing. The increase occurred in 2022 is due to the end of restrictions applied during the pandemic and again carrying out business more physically. However, compared to paper consumption of 2019, before the pandemic brake out, our paper consumption has decreased by 144,800 prints.

Installation of solar panels
Reducing the total cost of electricity is an important part of our environmental and sustainability work. Therefore, in 2021 a major investment was made installing solar panels at Montico head office in Tranås. A maximum number of solar panels were intstalled producing approximately 230,000 kWh anually.
Reducing the cost of electricity is also achieved by installing motion detectors during new installation and renovation where possible, switching to fluorescent lamps with low energy consumption and extinguishing lights in unmanned rooms. Computers and digital tools will be shut down at the end of the work.
