Our current portfolio includes 5 integrated resorts in Macao and 1 in Singapore. We explored several options before choosing Long Island, but in the end, we felt this region offered us the best opportunity to create a transformational development that would become a world-class destination resort for tourists and Long Islanders alike.
The resort will generate millions of dollars of reoccurring, annual tax revenue for New York. If we are granted the gaming license, the economic impact will multiply significantly. State statute calls for 20% of the gaming tax revenue received to go directly back to Nassau and Suffolk Counties. In addition, the lease agreement outlines revenue guarantees to Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead, as well as direct payments for a Community Benefits Agreement, public safety, and much more.
This will be a $4-5 billion investment, so the opportunities for local businesses are unprecedented. Our procurement academies have drawn record crowds and we’ve seen tremendous interest from companies across the region, and across industries in working with our project. Drake Media Studios, is part of Long Island history. The studio was once the independent TV Station of Channel 55, (WLIG and then later WLNY). CBS bought the tv station in 2012 but they moved out of the original newsroom in Melville in 2020 upon their purchase by Viacom. In, December of 2020 Donna Drake decided to move back into the same address where she worked as a young, Production Coordinator to create Drake Media Studios. Feel free to ask Donna about her vintage Oprah Winfrey poster. The studio is dedicated to her now landlord, and friend, Michael Pascucci, a self made and humble fellow, for inspiring Drake in her twenties to go for her dreams.
