When I sat down to write this month's lifestyle letter, I really started ruminating on what home represents to me and what the spirit of that looks like. While the details of the word home can look different to each of us, the meaning and sentiment correlated with it are usually ones of comfort and peace.
Growing up my mother would always tell me that "home is where the heart is," a nod at creating home wherever it is you find your heart most yearning to be. To me home is a haven, a place of peace to recharge and gather your strength, it is where your mind finds peace and your heart is at rest. It hosts impromptu dance parties, is filled with music you love, smells of home-cooked meals, is a place where laughter is abundant and relaxation and tranquility are easy. Most importantly, it is filled with the things and people you love, whatever those connections may look like for you.
We feel lucky to call Loveland our home and to be able to share the stories and businesses that make that home so special. As you flip through the pages of this month's issue, we hope that you find inspiration and feel the connection to the community you are surrounded with. We are thankful to be a part of your home and to share these communities with you!

Our homes are our sanctuaries.
It's where we are able to escape, release, and center ourselves. Home is a haven in which we can retreat surrounded by the things and people that we love. Having a soothing and aesthetically pleasing living space can go a long way in making us feel more grounded and relaxed.
Adding greenery into our homes is one way to infuse natural beauty and life into our spaces. It’s also scientifically proven
ARTICLE BY SARAH ERICKSON PHOTOGRAPHY BY BOHO WEST PHOTOSthat having plants in our homes and offices is not only a source of pleasure and beauty, but also promotes health in a variety of ways. In fact, humans are intertwined at the most core level with plants and greenery to the point where a lush landscape is synonymous with flourishing and prospering. And nobody understands the role plants play in our daily lives and how to properly integrate them into our spaces better than Nicole Bookman, front-range plant stylist and owner of Sage + Grace Botanicals.
Inspired by the beauty of nature that is all around us, Sage + Grace Botanicals helps introduce natural, living elements into homes and offices to create beautiful, livable spaces where you will feel more alive and inspired.
Curated, comfortable, and organic-feeling, Nicole’s aesthetic weaves in natural and living elements like wood, leather, and botanicals to create a living pulse within the home. She works and lives by the belief that we are meant to live close to nature and that introducing

plants into the home is one way for us to reconnect to our truest selves.
“I love creating spaces for people to hold space, to feel nourishment, and be inspired by and at home deep within their being,” says Nicole. “I want to create a space for my clients to pull back, tune in, relax and de-stress from the world.“
After being introduced to the Appalachian Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina over twenty years ago, Nicole admits that she was forever changed by the rich biosphere and the lush understory of the area. After her time in North Carolina, she moved to
Colorado, which felt like a bit of a desert in comparison. Craving the lush feel of the Appalachians, she created an environment for herself that was an earthy grounded safe haven.
After that, friends and people in the community would ask her to come and look at their plants and ask for recommendations. It was then that she realized that she had a viable business and Sage + Grace Botanicals was born. Since then she has had the opportunity to work on a vast array of projects creating inspirational spaces in homes, offices, restaurants, retail spaces and more. Sage
+ Grace Botanicals even had the opportunity to design the stage for the band Elephant Revival at Planet Bluegrass.
“My clients trust and invite me into their homes. I snuggle in, get a feel for them and their space and I listen. I learn so much from each one. It’s such an honor,” she explains.
A design aesthetic that she identifies with and that often inspires her own work is a concept called Wabi Sabi. This is the Japanese notion of finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting the natural cycle of growth and decay, celebrating cracks, crevices, and all other marks that time, weather, and love leave behind.
She embraces the imperfection of nature and believes that your dwelling place should be 100% authentically you. It’s not about mimicking anybody else’s space. Nor does it have to make sense or be perfect, it just needs to feel like home.
At Sage + Grace Botanicals, it’s about creating a space that feels like home and introducing greenery, texture, life, and movement—the elements that we as humans were meant to live amongst.

A good fairy tale incorporates characters overcoming obstacles through hard work and perseverance, sprinkled with creativity and imagination, and usually, a whole lot of magic. Most people think of fairy tales and go straight to Disney, but anyone who has read the original Grimm Brothers stories written by famous German writers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, knows that each story is harrowing and encompasses some darkness into the plot, with each character possessing a unique depth to their personality.
Finding those tales and the characters within them relatable and somewhat parallel to their focus on specializing in traditional and historical German-style beers, the Grimm Brothers Brewery story began in 2010. Founded originally by avid home brewers who were taken with the rich tradition of European/German beers, they focused their aim at letting their beers not only tell the story of craft brewing but also in weaving those stories into the fairy tales of Brothers Grimm. This not only gave their beers a dynamic storyline to build from, but provided a theme that would capture their audience’s attention and keep them wanting to know more.
Grimm Brothers Brewery’s long-standing history in the Sweetheart City slates them as the oldest brewery in Loveland and as Loveland’s first independent brewery, awarding them a special place in the local community’s heart. Dedicated to building from that foundation, new owners Jesse Sommers and Lynx Hawthorne are committed to bringing that celebrated history into the Brewery’s newest chapter.
With a focus on making Grimm Brothers Brewing and its fabled storytelling calling card that the brand is aligned with a recognized name outside of our Northern Colorado community, the duo is also intent on preserving the German brewing tradition that the brand’s well-entrenched roots are steeped in. With that course set on the horizon, they are offering up long-standing patrons several new things to get excited about.
Their new taproom location on the Forge Campus (for all those natives, the old HP building) boasts a taproom space big enough to accommodate their growth plan, a massive event room, cocktails, a full kitchen menu and an outdoor space that will make patio hangs in warmer weather a staple. The space incorporates honorary memorabilia from the original location, including nods to their brewing heritage using upcycled barrel pieces to create unique décor features. Adding to its core lineup they also have a West Coast IPA accurately named “The Prince of Hops” and a German Lager dubbed “The Golden Goose”. Keeping a few of their original classics, Snow Drop their honey-wheat ale, Little Red Cap their twist on a Red Ale, and their Blood orange Hefeweizen, The Griffin; they have given the characters a slightly new feel. With their rebranding, they were careful to stick closely to the pillar of what made Grimm Brothers unique and special in the beginning, adding twists that incorporate the classics we have all come to know and love.
This new direction and drive ushers in a distinct era for the future of Grimm Brothers Brewing. Their fairy tale, like the ones they love, has featured many adventures and journeys leading up to this new chapter in the Grimm Brothers story, and it’s one that we are eager to watch unfold.
Spring symbolizes renewal and new beginnings. Many people see a thorough, deep spring cleaning as a way to refresh their living spaces after the long winter months, creating a clean and inviting environment to welcome the season.
There are areas in a professional spring cleaning service that may be unintentionally neglected by homeowners doing the cleaning for themselves. If you would like to level up your fresh start, remember to clean these spaces:
1. Ceiling fans and Light fixtures: Look up! Dust and dirt collect up high and cleaning these areas not only keeps your home looking bright and fresh, but also ensures a healthier environment for you and your loved ones.
2. Baseboards and Moldings: They are what make your home cozy and complete, but baseboards and moldings quietly collect dust and grime. Show these areas some love during your spring cleaning for extra sparkle and charm.
3. Appliances: Having a clean refrigerator is such a great feeling and a wonderful way to reset for the season. Don’t forget to clean the top of the refrigerator, sides of the oven, and vacuum the compressor vents.
4. Floors: Constant maintenance is needed in high-traffic areas, but the area under furniture and appliances needs some love too. Discovering all of the hidden treasures, pet hair, and dirt under furniture and appliances can be surprisingly satisfying!
5. Windows: The windows are the eyes of the home. They add brightness and sunshine to the space, and you can invite all of it in by cleaning glass, frames, tracks, sills, and window coverings.
If you live in Northern Colorado, then chances are you’ve heard of Baessler Homes, have driven past a Baessler Home community, or may even live in one. Founded in 1968 with a simple vision to build the most valuable homes in the marketplace, Baessler has established itself as a mainstay
“Our heart's desire is to not just be another developer, but to truly be a part of the community.”
in the industry. Hometown builders to the core, they pride themselves on not being just “another developer.” Instead, they involve themselves in the communities they build in and create a strong Colorado hometown feel in every neighborhood that is emblazoned with the Baessler “B”. However, their impact goes far beyond building houses to truly being stewards of the Northern Colorado community. From the beginning, Baessler has taken their role within the community to a much more heart-led and intimate level. In 2017, the company was converted to The Baessler Group (TBG). TBG is a public benefit corporation and operates as a forprofit ministry with the primary focus of caring for the people that the Lord has brought to the company. Ministry at TBG means “caring for the
whole person” in all aspects of their life. The for-profit products/services that they provide to the marketplace are valuable newly built homes. And it’s these for-profit activities that fund their commitment and calling to the ministry of caring for people.
At Baessler Homes, it’s this ministry of caring for people that drives everything that they do. They believe that their primary purpose for existing as an organization is to reveal the Kingdom of God by loving and serving those they work with and caring for each person in all aspects of their life. This has been lived out in a number of ways including donating at least 10% of all profits to partnering organizations that make a difference throughout Northern Colorado and around the world.
And now after a decade in the works, Baessler Homes’s BH Impact, the outreach initiative for Baessler Homes, officially launched in January 2024. The mission of BH Impact is to steward resources and profits from Baessler Homes to impact the world by caring for those in need with generosity and compassion. BH Impact helps to lead and coordinate outreach initiatives that drive their mission as a homebuilder to love and serve all.
And this all starts from the bottom up. Their desire is for every Team Member at Baessler Homes to feel a part of something bigger that changes lives.
“It’s an integral part of us as a team at Baessler, to live out who we are and to grow people in their whole lives, not just their homes,” explains Nate Taverner, Engagement Manager for Baessler Homes. “Our heart's desire is to not just be another developer, but to truly be a part of the community.”
BH Impact partners with local, national and global non-profit organizations that provide resources and services to people in their communities. Their mission is to invest in non-profit organizations that are relationally connected to people in their communities. They currently partner with a number of local partners and organizations including Realities for Children, Boys and Girls Clubs of Weld County, the Ark Christ Centered Sober Living, Colorado Youth Outdoors, House of Hope, Genesis Project of Northern Colorado and so many more.
“We encourage the entirety of the team to live out generosity. It’s who we are as an organization.”
Not only that, but they also sponsored a mission trip to Guatemala last year with 13 team members and their families.
As you can see, they’re not just here to build you a house and walk away. Their vision is to actively share the resources of God to spread the Gospel and care for all people.
about and helping within the community. That’s the biggest impact. That’s where we find the most value for our team.”
With the launch of BH Impact, Baessler Homes is looking forward to living out generosity and being not only home builders, but community builders within Northern Colorado for many more years to come.

“The heart behind why we build houses is so that we can do this other stuff,” explains Taverner. “It’s all about whole life balance and helping people find what they’re passionate
