Q: How can I capitalise on taking outdoor pictures now that spring has arrived? A:

In a word, bluebells! We’re so lucky in Orpington to have two amazing places to see this spectacle of nature, which offers a perfect opportunity to capture some wonderful images of your family - High Elms with its secret paths and Andrew’s Woods with its wide-open swathes. Look for where light streams through the trees casting shadows and make sure your subject is in the open and in the light, otherwise you’ll lose their features. Make sure you get as many bluebells in the picture reaching as far as the eye can see, with your subject in the foreground. It’s even better if you make it a family picture, with bluebells being enjoyed across all generations.

Q: I’m going out and don’t have time to wash my greasy hair – help! A:

Three simple tricks can help save the day! 1. Dry shampoo is your best friend on those unwashed hair days and can work wonders. A small spray onto the roots and the rest of the hair will eliminate grease and give your hair instant volume. 2. A simple braid can disguise greasy roots and looks fabulous and stylish. 3. Use a sparkly headband to cover those greasy roots!

Q: How can I ensure my child’s teeth are clean?

A: Hair By Jo - facebook @hairbyjomullins Q: What’s the best way of preparing for a long car journey? A: 1. Tyres: check the pressure and their condition. 2. Toolkit: make sure you have a spare wheel, jack and wheel removing tools. 3. Engine oil and water: check the levels and top up if needed. 4. Q: What’s the simplest way to drop some weight?

For children, routine is key. Fitting the tooth brushing activity into a daily routine is the best way to help guarantee compliance. It should be done first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. Singing along to a song/rhyme for a couple of minutes can help ensure it’s done for long enough without your child getting bored or distracted. You could even do it with them so that they watch you and then copy. Reward them with gold star charts for brushing well.

A: Three meals and no snacking! Choose mainly healthy options, drink lots of water, exercise or increase your steps! That's usually enough to de-bloat, look and feel a few pounds lighter. Be consistent & keep it up for a few weeks - it really is THAT simple. Grab a buddy with similar goals and encourage each other! Much easier to stay on track, with someone doing it with you.
