The benefits of…. rosemary and thyme

Not only the title of a TV drama, but two effective medicinal herbs; Rosemary boosts the immune and circulatory systems, promotes hair growth and improves memory. A study showed that smelling rosemary essential oil improved pupils' exam results by up to 7%. Thyme helps fight respiratory infections and is an effective remedy for colds, coughs and sore throats. For treatment, drink fresh thyme tea with honey and lemon served hot to benefit from inhaling the vapour. Gina Webley MNIMH, Medical Herbalist www.ginawebleyherbalist.com

What's your best beauty advice for 2020 to maintain great skin?

I would always advise to remove all makeup and cleanse before bedtime. Waking up with a fresh clean complexion is the best start to the day. Never forget to wash your face at night, ensuring you remove all of your makeup regardless of how tired you are. Skin cleansers will gently remove surface dirt, pollution, makeup and colour pigment particles from your skin especially your foundations, which can seep into your pores! Massage your chosen face oil, cream or foam cleanser into the skin removing all product, to the hairline, with a sponge or a facial washcloth. Use warm not hot water to rinse, to ensure no damage to the skins delicate surface. Avoid baby wipes at all costs, they will not clean the skin thoroughly and can dry the skin's surface, and can even age the skin. Complete your night time skincare routine with a hydrating mist and moisturiser chosen specifically for your skin type. Cheryl Huggins - cherylhuggins.com
