Roadworks
From 4th-5th April, Thames Water will be undertaking roadworks in Main Road, St Paul’s Cray - with the road closed, expect delays.
Between 16th-22nd April, BT is installing 58m of polyduct in Lower Road, St Mary Cray. The road will be closed to enable them to do this.
On 7th and 13th April, High Street Orpington will be closed near the one-way system due to works by Thames Water. The company will also be carrying out works between 6th-8th April at the top end of the high street, with some carriageway incursion and minor delays expected.
Between 6th-17th April, SGN is upgrading its network in both Elm Grove and Hillview Road, where the roads will be closed.
From 6th – 14th April, Thames Water will close Glentrammon Road to carry out improvement works. The company will also close Cloonmore Avenue from 7th – 14th April to carry out works. .
Transport
On Saturday 4th April and 18th April, engineering work is taking place between Hither Green and Chislehurst, closing all lines. London Victoria to Orpington services will be extended to run to Tonbridge.
On Sunday 5th April Engineering work is taking place between Beckenham Junction/Nunhead and St Mary Cray/Petts Wood, closing various lines. On the Bromley South line, London Victoria to Orpington services will be replaced by buses between Beckenham Junction and Orpington.
Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Orpington between 10th-13th April due to engineering work taking place between St Johns and Sidcup/Petts Wood, closing various lines. On the Bromley South line, London Victoria to Orpington services will be extended to run to Tonbridge.
POLICE UPDATES
Results are already being seen from work to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime in Bromley town centre alongside a continued commitment for action. Action was proactively taken in the weeks prior to Christmas targeting offenders in what remains a relatively low crime area. As part of this, the police issued a series of dispersal orders. Latest statistics show that the borough is one of the safest in London and per head of population, for ‘victim based crime’, has the 7th lowest rate in the whole of London.
