... wird uns in den nächsten Tagen bei L-BEACH #4 wieder ganz besondere Momente bescheren. Gemeinsam mit meinem Team habe ich das ganze Jahr überlegt, womit wir euch und uns erfreuen können – und wir sind sicher, bei dem tollen Programm, das ihr auf den kommenden Seiten findet, ist für jede etwas dabei. Genießt zum vierten Mal den besonderen L-BEACH Mix aus mitreißender Musik und einmaligem Lebensgefühl, aus (hoffentlich) sonnigen Tagen am Strand und langen Party-Nächten. Mein großer Dank geht schon jetzt an alle, die vor und hinter den Kulissen zum Gelingen beitragen und an euch, die ihr teilweise schon zum vierten Mal begeistert dabei seid! Wir freuen uns auf großartige Festival-Tage mit euch von der Pre-Party ganz in Weiß am Donnerstag bis zum großen, emotionalen Abschlussmoment am Sonntagmittag. My team and I have been thinking all year long about what you might enjoy, and we are sure that every one of you will find something appetising in the programme to be found on the following pages. For the fourth time you can savour the unique L-BEACH mix of intoxicating music and an unequalled attitude to life, sunny days at the beach (we hope!), and extensive party nights. My special thanks go to all who work both in front and behind the curtain, for your contributions to the festival’s success. And also to you, our festival participants – some of you are taking part with inmense enthusiasm for the fourth time! SONNE , STRAND UND MEE(H)R . Drei Kilometer – so lang ist der Weissenhäuser Strand. Meer und Horizont soweit das Auge reicht. Während unsere DJs Samstag und Sonntag am L-PIER für den richtigen Sound sorgen, habt ihr die Möglichkeit, euch bei einem Sonnenbad zu entspannen, den einen oder anderen Augenkontakt zu initiieren oder euch sportlich zu betätigen. Diverse Strandspiele können vor Ort aus geliehen werden und bieten die perfekte Gelegenheit, spielend leicht neue Bekanntschaften zu schließen. Für Getränke und Snacks ist an der Bar gesorgt. Sonntag freuen wir uns darauf, erneut den großen Abschlussmoment mit euch am L-PIER zu erleben und hunderte Luftballons gen Himmel zu schicken. Die Aktion ist in diesem Jahr der V-Day Initiative „One Billion Rising“ (S. 9) gewidmet, die sich gegen Gewalt an Frauen auf der ganzen Welt richtet. Seid dabei und setzt gemeinsam mit uns ein Zeichen! T hree kilometers – that’s the length of “Weissenhäuser Strand”. Sea and horizon as far as the eye can see. While our DJs provide you with the right sound on Saturday and Sunday, you’ve got the chance to relax in the sun (we hope!), maybe initiate eye contact here and there, or engage in sport activities. You can borrow various beach games on site – the perfect opportunity to make new acquaintances in a playful manner. Beverages and snacks are available at the beach bar. Once again, we are looking forward to experiencing the big closing moment – sending hundreds of balloons into the sky – with you at the L-PIER on Sunday. This year’s action is dedicated to the V-Day movement “One Billion Rising” (p. 9) that fights violence against women around the world. Join us and set a sign!

Vor 15 Jahren lieferte das Theaterstück „Vagina Monologe“ der U.S. Autorin Eve Ensler den Anstoß zur V-Day Bewegung. Unter dem Motto „Victory Over Violence“ finden seither jährlich am 14. Februar und in der V-Day Season bis Ende April rund um die Welt Protestaktionen und Veranstaltungen statt. Jede dritte Frau (= 1 Millarde) wird irgendwann in ihrem Leben geschlagen oder vergewaltigt, und so lautet der Aufruf zur V-Season 2013 „One Billion Rising“, um weltweit Stärke und Solidarität zu zeigen. Die Aktion Setzt am Sonntag um 13.30 Uhr am L-PIER mit uns ein Zeichen gegen Gewalt. Und zwar in Form von hunderten von Luftballons, die wir gemeinsam gen Himmel steigen lassen werden. 15 years ago the US writer, Eve Ensler, published her theatre piece “Vagina Monologues” and initiated the V-Day Movement. Since then every year women worldwide show their demand for “Victory Over Violence” in actions and events. One in three women (= 1 billion) will be raped or beaten in her lifetime which is why “One Billion Rising” in this year’s V-Season is activating women worldwide to stand up and show their numbers and their solidarity. The event Join us on Sunday 1.30 pm at the L-PIER and set a sign against violence. Namely, in the form of hundreds of balloons that we Charity Finale will collectively release into the sky. EINTAUCHEN GESCHEHEN . In diesem Jahr macht das Schwitzen doppelt Spaß, denn die Saunalandschaft des POOL PARADISE erscheint nach einer kompletten Renovierung in neuem Gewand (kl. Foto). Stellt euch also auf ein heißes Stelldichein ein! Wer es doch lieber etwas kühler mag (das heißt: „nur“ ca. 30 C°), kann sich auf einer Fläche von 7.000 qm so richtig austoben. Pools über mehrere Etagen, riesige Wasserrutschen mit oder ohne Reifen, eine 400 qm große Wasserspiellandschaft, Whirlpool und die eine oder andere Bar machen das POOL PARADISE zu einem wirklichen Erlebnis. Das Beste daran: Freitagnachmittag und den gesamten Samstag gehört der Poolbereich ausschließlich euch, unseren L-BEACH Gästen. T his year sweating in the sauna will be twice as much fun. The wellness area has been refurbished since last year and has a completely new look (small photo). So prepare yourself for a hot rendezvous! Those who like it a bit cooler (in other words: about 30 C°) have 7000 sqm to play around in. Pools on several levels, huge waterslides with or without hoops, a water playland of 400sqm, jacuzzi and bars make the POOL PARADISE a special experience. Best of all: the pool area is reserved exclusively for L-BEACH guests from Friday afternoon and all through Saturday.

Sehen und gesehen werden – das funktioniert auf dem L-WALK ganz automatisch. Der Gang durch die Galeria bietet die unterschiedlichsten Attrak tionen. Sie ist das Herzstück des Geländes und verbindet alle Festival-Locations. Neben der L-HALL findet ihr hier auch die L-BAR, die in diesem Jahr schon Freitag ab 14 Uhr geöffnet ist und mit köstlichen Cocktails aufwartet. Auch die verschiedenen Restaurants laden zum Einkehren und Beobachten des bunten Treibens ein. Wer in Shopping-Stimmung ist, wird in unserem L-SHOP fündig. Wollt ihr dann noch etwas Gutes tun, spendet am Stand von „Pink Ribbon“ für die deutsche Brustkrebs-Hilfe. To see and to be seen – that works out perfectly on the L-WALK . Sauntering about the Galeria offers various attractions. It is the core of the compound connecting all festival locations. Wakeboard Fun Unsere Wakeboard-Expertin Leslie Harrington wird auch in diesem Jahr an der Wakeboardund Skianlage im Columbus Park vor Ort sein, um Tricks zu zeigen und den Anfängerinnen unter euch die Angst vor dem Start zu nehmen. Lauftreff | Runner’s appointment Nicht nur auf der Tanzfläche kann man neue Mädels kennen lernen – auch beim Lauftreff mit Tanja Dönnecke und Ilva Dethleffsen durch die Dünen kommt man mit anderen sportlichen L-BEACH Gästen ins Gespräch. Und natürlich richten sich die beiden Top-Sportlerinnen nach den Bedürfnissen der Teilnehmerinnen: In allen Laufrunden kann man sich für eine schnellere oder eine langsamere Gruppe entscheiden, am Samstag bieten Tanja und Ilva außerdem eine 6km- und eine 12km-Strecke an. Während Arantxa und Ipek euch in die Kunst des Mixens einführen, habt ihr beim Schreibworkshop von Tania Witte die Chance, eure Geschichten aufs Papier zu bringen. TURNTABLE QUEENS Arantxa Gallardo (links oben) aus Köln ist bekannt für ihre treibenden Electro-Sets. In ihrem Workshop erklärt sie, wie man solche zu sammenstellt und was man dafür auch über die Technik des DJ-Pultes wissen sollte. Für besten OrientMix ist die Berlinerin DJ Ipek Ipekcioglu (links unten) bekannt. Bei ihr lernt ihr, wie man Ethno-Sounds tanzbar macht und die eigene Musik-Bibliothek im Rechner optimal verwaltet. Das Gelernte könnt ihr dann sofort selber am Pult ausprobieren. DJ Arantxa Gallardo (top left) from Cologne is known for her impulsive electro sets. S ex educationist Ute Hiller conveys basics about protection against sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis and HIV. Im Umkleidebereich des POOL PARADISE lädt euch die DARK ZONE Freitag- und Samstagnacht dazu ein, die Hüllen im Schutz der Dunkelheit fallen zu lassen und neues Terrain zu erkunden. Lasst euch vom L-Mag Team in die „Do’s und Don’ts“ im Dunklen einführen... For ages 18 and over! The changing room area in the POOL PARADISE will transform into the DARK ZONE on Friday and Saturday night where you’ll be invited to drop your clothes, protected DARK ZONE by the dark, and explore new terrain. Dr. Claudia Thieme has a doctorate (on Orson Welles) in American and German Literature from Kiel and Indiana ( USA ). She lives in her native city of Hamburg and works as a film producer.

KAREN-SUSAN FESSEL Die Drucktinte wird kaum getrocknet sein, wenn KarenSusan Fessel im L-THEATER aus „Was du willst“ liest, denn ihr aktueller Roman erscheint erst Anfang März im Querverlag. Was sie nach „Leise Töne“ zu diesem neuen Werk inspirierte und warum die 2011 mit dem Rosa-Courage-Preis ausgezeichnete Berliner Schriftstellerin derzeit an zwei Jugendbüchern arbeitet, verrät sie bei L-BEACH #4 im Gespräch mit Moderatorin Claudia Thieme. T he ink will hardly be dry when Karen-Susan Fessel reads from her new novel “What You Want” in the L-THEATER , since it was only published by Querverlag at the beginning of March. LAURA MÉRITT Bei L-BEACH wird die Sex-Aktivistin und Herausgeberin Dr. Laura Méritt „Frauenkörper neu gesehen“ vorstellen, das „Standardwerk weiblicher Sexualität“, das schon in den 70ern durch die einzigartige Darstellung der weiblichen Sexualanatomie revolutionär wirkte. Zeichnungen und Fotografien wie diese waren und sind bis heute in keiner anderen Veröffentlichung zu finden. To this day, drawings and photos like these cannot be found in any other publication. However, her Berlin years between 1984 and 1992, did not attract much attention, even though Lorde promoted the selfempowerment of Afro-Germans and prompted white Germans to realise their privileges and deal with differences in a constructive way.

Dabei liegen ihr besonders die Filme am Herzen, die sich mit der Situation von LGBTI in anderen Ländern auseinandersetzen. „Denn nicht allen geht es so gut wie uns hier in Deutschland.“ Neben ihrem Engagement für die Filmtage arbeitet Charlotte als freie Journalistin. Charlotte Reuscher is the editor of the programme brochure for the “Hamburg International Queer Film Festival”. Her focus lies on films that deal with the situation of LGBTI people in other countries, since “not every body is as lucky and lives as freely as we do in Germany.” In her other life, Charlotte works as a freelance journalist.

Seid gespannt, wie Moderatorin Shirin in diesem Jahr ihren ersten Auftritt gestaltet. Soviel sei verraten: Auch die sechs sexy Ladies von Dollhouse Burlesque aus Glasgow tragen dazu bei, dass es „hot“ losgeht. Nicht zu ver gessen unser Special Guest Daniela Sea, die ihr an diesem Abend besser kennenlernt. Erstmalig in diesem Jahr: ein Finale nach dem letzten Live-Act am Samstag. BETTY wird den L-BEACH Song neu arrangiert mit vielen anderen Künstlerinnen live performen. Ein Gänsehaut-Moment, den ihr euch nicht entgehen lassen solltet!
