Outpatient BH Clinic
The JPS Behavioral Health team was excited to participate in Near Southside’s annual Open Streets event in Fort Worth a popular, family-friendly community gathering that transforms Magnolia Avenue into a car-free celebration of health, wellness, and connection
Our Behavioral Health team hosted an outreach booth to share information about mental health services, answer questions, and offer free resources to support the well-being of our community. Throughout the day, team members engaged with dozens of individuals and families, sparking important conversations about mental health and helping to reduce stigma
From sharing resources to connecting with the community in a relaxed, welcoming setting, our presence at Open Streets reflects our ongoing commitment to making mental health care visible, approachable, and available to all
A huge thank you to everyone who helped represent JPS Behavioral Health at this incredible event! We look forward to being part of it again next year
Employee of the Month - Lindsay Sorensen
We're excited to recognize Lindsay, Licensed Clinical Therapist at our Stop Six Behavioral Health location, as May’s Employee of the Month! For the past three years, Lindsay has brought deep expertise and compassion to her work providing therapy, conducting intake assessments, and supporting patients with substance use disorders, grief, anger, and advanced addiction. She’s especially skilled in working with high-risk and unsheltered individuals A colleague shared, “Lindsay graciously stepped up to support a client who requested an LPC She’s not only a great provider, but also a team player and a valued resource for our therapy team.” Thank you, Lindsay, for your outstanding care and dedication.
ReflectingonMent
As Mental Health Month comes to a close, we're taking a moment to celebrate the incredible impact of our May initiatives Thanks to the support, enthusiasm, and participation of our team and community, we were able to raise awareness, share resources, and create meaningful connections around mental health
Empowering Through Education: QPR Trainings
This month, we hosted two QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training sessions an essential tool in equipping individuals to recognize and respond to the signs of a suicide crisis Each session represented a step toward building a more informed and compassionate community
Connecting with the Community: Tabling Events
We also held two tabling events at the main hospital, engaging a total of 190 employees, patients, and visitors These events provided space for open dialogue, resource sharing, and helping reduce the stigma surrounding mental health
Spreading the Word: Digital Outreach
With help from the Communications team, we maintained a strong digital presence throughout the month Scheduled social media posts and JPS Network-wide sliders allowed us to extend our message to an even broader audience, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness across platforms
We’re proud of what we accomplished together and grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life As we look ahead, we’re excited to build on this momentum and make next year’s Mental Health Month even more impactful Thank you for being part of the movement
