Congratulations to Makenzie Jordan for being named December's Employee of the Month! Makenzie is the Supervisor for TCHATT and has been with JPS for 4 years She started as a therapist with TCHATT for 2 years before stepping into her current role as Supervisor in 2022 Her commitment to the Outpatient

BH team is clear through her dedication and her willingness to step up when needed, especially when her leader is unexpectedly out of the office

Annual CBLs: The 2025 Annual Education courses are live. Visit JPS Learn to complete them by April 30 Excellence in Nursing Awards: Nominations for the Gold Stethoscope, Nurse Rookie of the Year, and Nurse Leader of the Year are currently open and close on February 2

Journey to Lose: Join this 8-week virtual weight-management series every Tuesday, February 4-March 25 at 11 a m Get tools to achieve your wellness goals, participate in cooking demonstrations, and explore mindful eating techniques Attend at least 5 out of 8 sessions to earn a 2025 Education WellCredit. Makenzie's teammates have also shared glowing feedback about her this past month! One team member noted, “Makenzie is such a great leader she always listens to our questions and never makes us feel wrong for asking ” Others highlighted her quick responses when help is needed, along with her kindness and support Makenzie truly is an invaluable asset to the Outpatient BH Team, and we are so grateful for her hard work and leadership!

A big congratulations also goes out to Annette Martinez, our January Employee of the Month! Annette, a Certified Medical Assistant for CBHR, has been with JPS for just over a year, spending her entire time in Outpatient BH, where she has made a significant impact Annette is widely praised for the care she takes in building rapport with her patients and earning their trust She ensures her patients are well-informed throughout the entire triage process and goes the extra mile to update them on provider status and wait times.

Annette exemplifies what "GREAT" looks like in Patient Experience! She is an incredible asset to both the patients she serves and the Outpatient BH Team, and we are truly grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside her!

The Department of Outpatient Behavioral Health has announced upcoming scheduling and staffing changes to enhance care delivery and better serve patients Effective Monday, February 24, 2025, the Behavioral Health Assessment Team will be decentralized from the Center for Behavioral Health Recovery (CBHR) to all outlying clinics. This change is designed to improve access to intake and medication management appointments while addressing the unique needs of the diverse patient population

Staffing Updates:

1. The CBHR Intake vacancy will be filled by Alexis Sanchez, currently the PHP Counselor for Central Arlington A dedicated social worker with years of experience in the JPS Outpatient Department, Alexis will transition to her new role in March 2025.

Celina O'Connor has resigned from her position with Outpatient Behavioral Health and will not return from maternity leave She will be missed for her dedication and positive presence

2. The Central Arlington PHP Counselor vacancy will be filled by Rylee Dixon, the current PHP Counselor at CBHR Rylee, a committed social worker with over two years in her role, will also transition in March 2025

3. Jill Pollard (transition from TCHATT team) will be the SWMH intake assessor Heather Hogan will be transitioning from therapist role at VP to VP Intake Assessor role.

Northeast BH Clinic PAR Team Win

The Northeast Behavioral Health (BH) Clinic PAR team, Dede Darden and Telia Jackson has been recognized for outstanding patient service, earning the Patient Experience Award for December 2024 The team achieved an impressive score of 94 44% on the "Courtesy of Registration Personnel" question on the Patient Experience

At TCHATT, we’re saying goodbye to Jill Pollard and Heather Zipper, who are transitioning to new roles within the OP BH team Jill will serve as an Intake Coordinator, while Heather will take on the role of an Adult Therapist We wish them great success in their new positions!

Looking ahead, TCHATT will welcome three new team members on February 3rd, including one internal hire from JPS and two external additions Exciting times ahead for the team!

The Behavioral Health department has released its holiday schedule for 2025, outlining adjusted hours for Outpatient Behavioral Health (BH) Clinics and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs). The schedule includes early closures and reduced in-person services on select holidays

Above is the 2025 holiday schedule for the Outpatient BH Clinics and PHP/IOPs Please note that the schedule also includes the 2024 New Year’s Eve (NYE) and 2025 New Year’s Day holiday, as these were part of the 2024 Holiday calendar At this time, the New Year’s holiday schedule for 2026 has not yet been finalized

FRANCES ABILEZ When JPS had IT issues and Frances was finally able to get it, she proactively printed out the therapist's schedules so that sessions could continue even when the team had no Epic access. She even did it for multiple days just in case it was needed. Thank you for saving the day, Frances!

LAURA CHICAIZA Laura identified a patient that had not had a recent appointment, messaged the therapist to address it & the patient was promptly scheduled!

SHELLY LOUIS Shelly has done a fantastic job learning about new resources and stepping outside of her comfort zone to help empower her patient She has learned new information and created a plan of care based on unique needs

KAREN GREENWOOD While doing WQ calls, Karen experienced an individual who was under extreme duress She immediately acted by calling PD When PD showed up, that person desperately needed help and was saved before something horrible happened
