member of the JPS team for the past eight years, specializing in behavioral health services Her journey with JPS began as a Patient Access Representative in the call center while she was completing her master’s degree in social work Since then, Erika has gained extensive experience working in various settings, including the PEC, inpatient care, and, for the last two years, outpatient services
Achieving her LCSW is a testament to Erika’s perseverance and the positive impact she has made in the lives of many We are thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved accomplishment and look forward to her continued contributions to our team and the community Erika’s hard work, compassion, and commitment to mental health care are truly inspiring

The clinic will provide a variety of essential behavioral health services, including new patient intake, therapy and counseling, medication management (available from 8 AM to 5 PM), and group therapies These services are designed to support individuals struggling with mental health challenges, offering the tools and resources necessary to achieve better mental wellness.
The JPS Southwest Medical Home Behavioral Health Clinic will be open Monday - Friday, from 7 AM to 7 PM, making it more convenient for community members to access the care they need at times that fit their schedules Whether patients are seeking individual therapy or group support, they can expect personalized, compassionate care aimed at fostering healing and long-term wellness.
The expansion of behavioral health services in Fort Worth addresses a growing need for mental health care in the region With mental health issues on the rise, especially in underserved communities, this clinic aims to break down barriers to access and provide a safe, welcoming environment for all. The clinic’s comprehensive approach to care will allow for continuity in treatment, helping patients manage their mental health
The clinic’s team will work closely with patients to develop individualized plans for care By offering a range of treatment options, including individual and group therapy for adults, and medication management for adults and children/adolescents, the JPS Southwest Medical Home is creating a supportive space for patients to heal, grow, and thrive

Fort Worth Report: Mental Health
On February 26, Fort Worth Report hosted a vital Candid Conversation over Mental Health, where our very own Zelia Baugh, Executive Vice President of Behavioral Health at JPS Health Network, served as a panelist This event brought together experts and leaders to discuss the pressing issue of mental health access in Tarrant County, where one in every six people is diagnosed with depression Despite this, the area, like much of Texas, has faced long-standing challenges in providing adequate mental health care
January PAR Patient Experience Winners: Stop Six PARs

The panel was moderated by Chris Cobler CEO and collaboration between healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations to ensure that individuals struggling with mental health issues receive the care and support they deserve

Special recognition goes to Angela Brookins and Evanya Elvir for their exceptional contributions in providing a welcoming and positive experience for patients from the moment they walk in
This achievement highlights their dedication to patient care and attention to detail, as reflected in the high survey ratings. Additionally, the overall score for all Behavioral Health clinics on this question was 83.94%, showcasing a strong commitment to improving patient experience across the network
