Celebrating our Independence TITLE Day Online online
March 12 commemorates the independence of Mauritius and also its accession to the status of the Republic. This anniversary is usually celebrated grandly by all Mauritians. On this day, there is the solemn commemoration with the protocols and national guests, the flag-raising ceremony at Champ de Mars accompanied by the parades and cultural events throughout the country. Unfortunately this year, the lockdown was announced just a few days before the National Day. We knew that everybody would be missing the celebrations and therefore, we decided that it would be a great occasion for us to celebrate online with all JCI Mauritius members.
JCI Quatre Bornes organised a zoom session with the members. We were even happier to be joined by members who are abroad. We began with the National Anthem which we sang happily and proudly followed by a moment of exchange among the members. The fun part was the quiz of the history of Mauritius and the improvised Bingo at home. Everyone enjoyed it and this game brought a lot of smiles. Yes, JCI is not only about the projects but also about the bonding we share with our members. It is true that at JCI the brotherhood of man really transcends the sovereignty of nations
