2020 has been a memorable year and was full of valuable lessons. The least that we can say is that it left us better prepared to deal with this second wave of the COVID-19. The action plan for 2021 was geared towards the recovery of our local organisation in a post COVID-19 outbreak. Recruitment is a big priority so that our local organisation can carry out projects that are impactful for those suffering from the various consequences of the pandemic. Though the second wave of the disease took us all by surprise I am very h a p p y to see that our members have not been discouraged by the lockdown and continued with their respective projects. The board members have been properly equipped with amazing training sessions during the LOM/NOM training to deliver on their assigned tasks this year. Our national flagship projects are progressing despite of the lockdown and we hope that all the participants will have an enriching experience from those training sessions.

Thanks to the COVID-19 Emergency Response Committee, many projects have been launched to address the numerous challenges following the lockdown. It is a pleasure to see the JCI Mauritius family come as one during this difficult period. It is even more inspiring to witness the determination of the various committee members to overcome the obstacles to reach their goals. I hope that this passion for action becomes contagious and keeps on motivating us throughout the year.

I wish you all to stay safe and in good health. And I hope you will enjoy this wonderful edition of our Newsletter.
