Mid-Prairie joins the Corridor Jazz Project for the first time in 2023! They've qualified for Jazz Champs a dozen times since 2002, most recently in 2022, have placed first or second at the SEIBA Jazz contest 9 times, and have received a 1 at Sate jazz band 19 of the last 22 years.

Gary McCurdy

Gary McCurdy of Washington, Iowa is retired after 25 years as a band director in the Washington Community Schools. For the past 20 years he has been performing around the Midwest as The Tubador. His self contained solo tuba performances feature standard melodies from the popular and jazz repertory. He has spent more than a decade as a performer at the Iowa State Fair, Ragbrai and many other events in Iowa.

Randy Swift

Co-founder of Big Band Theory in Washington Ia. Randy Swift has taught guitar and played for small ensembles around the Washington area since the early 1980’s. He lives and farms near Washington with his wife Beth.
