About the Lisbon Jazz Band:

The Lisbon High School Jazz Band is the top jazz band at the Lisbon Community School District, directed by Joseph Arch, another of the growing number of band directors who are also alums of this program. Lisbon is a 2A school, but just barely. If their enrollment was just two students fewer, they’d be a 1A school. Which makes their 1st place trophy at this year's NEIBA Jazz Festival that much sweeter. Even better, that trophy got them an automatic bid into the Jazz Championships, where they placed in the prestigious Top Eight!

About Rod Pierson

Rod Pierson is a performer and educator who is requested for Corridor Jazz nearly every year because of his gifts as a mentor and teacher, as well as his swinging sax.nHe’s a sought-after player and clinician, who supports nearly all of our Corridor music programs as a representative with West Music.

As a player, he is a veteran of the Glenn Miller and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and has also backed artists like Aretha Franklin, the Temptations and more. His own big band, with Craig Boche on vocals, is one of Iowa’s most exciting ensembles.
