About The Revolutionists:

The Revolutionist Jazz Band, Revs to their friends, is the top jazz band at Cedar Rapids Washington High School. The Washington Revolutionist Jazz Band is made up of 19 students from grades 9 through 12. The band performs from February to May each year and enjoys performing music from across the jazz history spectrum.
They placed in the prestigious top 8 in the 2023 Iowa Jazz Championships.
About Simon Harding:

Simon Harding has shared the stage with Darius Rucker, Ben Folds, The O.J.’s, the Tommy Dorsey band, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and many more. He was a member of the Charleston Jazz Orchestra for years and since moving to the midwest is currently a member of the Iowa Jazz Composers Orchestra, the Jon Ailabouni Quintet, Triology and many other ensembles.
He’s performed at the Spoleto USA festival, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, Sturgis Falls, the Cedar Basin Music Festival, was a featured artist for the Charleston Jazz Festival and also one of seven U.S. guest artists selected to perform in El Salvador with the National Youth Symphony.
When he’s not performing or practicing, he spends time restoring and repairing woodwind instruments at J&H Winds, a shop he co-owns with Jimmy Jensen.
