About The Iowa City West Jazz Ensemble:

The West High Jazz Ensemble is one of three student big bands at West High School in Iowa City. The band performs at a variety of concerts and festivals throughout the entire academic year. The Jazz Cafe, an annual fundraising concert held each December, gives students the opportunity to host and interact with guest artists from around the country. This year, the event featured Los Angeles-based artists Emiliano Lasansky and Julien Knowles.

The West High Jazz Ensemble received first place at the SEIBA on March 4 and scored in the top 8 at the Iowa Jazz Championships

About Nolan Schroeder:

Nolan Schroeder is one of a very few musicians who participated in the Corridor Jazz Project as students and now return as guest artist. In fact, this is his 5th turn as a guest! He has been playing professionally since age 16, during his time at Linn-Mar High School. He’s performed with Commons Collective, Blake Shaw, Thrio, Bob Dorr, the Blue Band, The Candymakers, and Goose Town. In addition to performing across the Midwest, he has toured in New York and California, as well as Italy, Thailand, and Brazil. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Northern Iowa
