Your Music for World Peace Marcus Johnson, Teacher and Founder of Pure Sounds On Friday September 17, 2021 our MYP students participated in Your Music for World Peace. During this extraordinary workshop, teacher and published songwriter Marcus Johnson lead an immersive and interactive session about the important role of music in our world. While Model United Nations students largely see debate and the United Nations as vehicles for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, in reality, progress is a result of collaboration and teamwork between many disciplines. We must look to leaders with varied and diverse talents to make progress towards achieving the global goals. Whilst in this session, students were encouraged

to tap into their creativity, learning how music could be a vehicle for global changes. Students learnt how to start writing their own music, and were introduced to free, easy tools to start them off on the path to song writing. Ultimately, all participants were encouraged to enter the music and art festival, being hosted by NHSMUN MX, where they could possibly be featured in the virtual concert at the end of the conference. We are looking forward to hearing the creative musical compositions that our young inspiring future leaders will bring to the airwaves. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity and we are looking forward to Part 2 of Marcus Johnson’s workshop.
