On Thursday, September 9, 2021, as part of the NHSMUN Mexico preparation, we were honored to have our MYP students participate in a workshop presented by Mr. Lance G. King.

He is an internationally recognized author of six books on the skills of thinking and learning, the creator of the Art of Learning program, and a specialist in the direct teaching of 21st Century Skills. Within the International Baccalaureate Organization he designed and developed the Approaches to Learning (ATL) framework for both the MYP and DP programmes.

Based on his impressive resume and his work advancing the IB program around the world, we were excited to have Lance join us to introduce his innovative LALATAT platform. Led by a team of IB leaders, LALATAT is a platform providing students with activities that follow the IB’s Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, which are central to the IB Framework. Activities on LALATAT reinforce students’ understanding of the five ATL skills (critical thinking, communication, social skills, self- management, and research) in a selfdriven and reflective way.

The students interacted with Lance during the workshop and followed him through the different activities and tasks that they now have access to in their own individual LALATAT account.

We look forward to the students continuing their learning journey on this path to becoming global citizens and wish to thank Mr. King for his inspiring workshop.
