Message from pastor Gilson Sousa:
We greet all our brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting the Sunday Bible School. The subject to be presented is the book of Reve-

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the answers given by various brothers to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies relating to the Sunday Bible School.

Question
[Answered through video]
What does the name “Thyati-
ra” mean? Comment on your answer.
Our concern at the moment is to understand the process that the church went through throughout its period, from Pentecost to the present day. What interests us today is to show the operation of the Holy Spirit, the established doctrine and, at the same time, everything that happened in opposition to God’s plan for the church.
From a certain point onwards, there was a split: the Gospel remained with Jesus
and Christianity with men, even though Jesus was always ready to reveal himself. There have been many difficulties for the Faithful Church, but it has always stood. When you open the Bible, you see all the prophecy about Christianity. The Bible doesn’t go on to talk about Mohammedanism, or any other religious movement, but only about the Faithful Church and the Unfaithful Church. These other groups fall under the umbrella of the Gentiles. The Bible deals prophetically with the history of the church. There is
no other concern. The unfaithful church will have a judgment, but the faithful church will have its great benefit: the rapture.
The word “Thyatira” means “continual sacrifices”. This moment in the church’s journey, which took place in the Middle Ages, happened when the church distanced itself from the Gospel. At that time, the unfaithful church established other saviors. Thus, all opposition has always been against the Word. This opposition happened during the time of Ephesus, Smyrna and Pergamos.
Pergamos is made up of two words (“per” and “gamos”). The two words come together to mean “perverted marriage”. The prefix “Per” comes from the Greek and means “perverted”. The suffix “gamos” comes from
Latin and means marriage. Thus, in the union of these two words we see the union of the two languages of the world at that time, focused on the same project. It was a perverted marriage.
Everything that was preached against the Work of the Spirit entered the time of Thyatira. Who introduces this opposition for that time? The woman. Who was the woman? The unfaithful church. Revelation shows the garments of the unfaithful Church.
“The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.” Revelation 17:4
Purple: royalty
Scarlet: Color of blood when it leaves the body.
Gold: Material power
Precious stones: the faithful church is used for spiritual gifts and the unfaithful church is used for material gifts.
Pearls: She placed pearls on them: many mediators. But Jesus is the only pearl. But Jesus is the only mediator between God and man.

The golden cup: it’s very beautiful from the bottom. But when revelation comes from above, its abominations are revealed. Man sees from the bottom up, but the Spirit sees from the top down.
But how is the bride dressed, the faithful church?
“And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”
Revelation 19:8
Pure, fine linen is what the world will see in its life.
Christianity accepts everything. But the faithful church only accepts what comes from the Holy Spirit. Religion owns Christianity. There’s no problem with that. But the question is: are you going to heaven? That’s the problem.
In the Old Testament there were liturgical sacrifices. When Jesus died, that was all behind
us. He became the sheep, the temple, the day of rest and the priest.
But what was done during this time in Thyatira? They created liturgical worship. There was a deviation from that of grace. There was a deviation from the plan. Hence the reference to continual sacrifice. Who did this? The woman: the unfaithful church. Continuous sacrifice is not for us. We don’t have to reissue the service based on the law.
May the Lord bless us.
