The Lord Jesus revealed in the TabernaclePart IV

December 07, 2025
Summary of the president’s message
The Sunday Bible School of December 7th, 2025, was held live from the Communications Center of Radio e TV Maanaim, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Diniz Azevedo
Message from Pastor Gilson Sousa:
We greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are studying the Taberna-
cle, showing everything that was prophesied concerning the Lord Jesus.
Today we will approach the Tabernacle beginning with the moment when God manifests Himself for the first time to Moses on Mount Horeb. Horeb would be the place that marked the presence of God in the life of Moses, and later, in the life of Israel.
“So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’ and he said, ‘Here I am.’ Then He said, ‘Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your

feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.’.” Exodus 3:4-5.
Let us pay close attention to this special moment that points us toward the study of the Tabernacle. It is the moment in which God manifests Himself to the man whom He separated and chose from birth, through the first forty years he lived in Egypt: Moses. Moses was prepared by God. He was called to fulfill the will of God and to deliver the people of Israel from the bondage of Egypt.
At Horeb, God reveals Himself to Moses. After 40 years in Egypt, God prepares him to live another 40 years in the desert as a shepherd, and then to spend his final 40 years guiding God’s people from Egypt to the entrance of Canaan, living a total of 120 years.
After leaving Egypt, the people of Israel arrived at Horeb. There, in the same place where God revealed Himself to Moses, the Lord would manifest Himself powerfully to His people. In Exodus 19, the Lord appears in a glorious manner: through thundering, lightning, and fire.
“Then it came to pass on the Pr. Gilson Sousa conducting the Sunday Bible School

third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very Loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.” Exodus 19:16.
On Mount Horeb, God delivers to Moses the tablets of the law and, in a very special way, the blueprint of the Tabernacle, emphasizing repeatedly:
“And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.” Exodus 25:40.
Thus, God prepared a man to fulfill His project: to take the people out of Egypt and bring them into the Promised Land.
Message from Pastor Diniz Azevedo
I greet the brethren with the peace of the Lord. There is a very interesting aspect regarding Mount Horeb. Sometimes the Bible refers to Horeb or Sinai because they were in the
same region. Horeb refers to a mountainous region or range, and Sinai refers to a specific peak within that range. In that place, Moses had a personal and prophetic experience with God.
At Horeb, God would show Moses the design of the Tabernacle. At Horeb, Moses would have his first experience with the Lord.
“So He said, I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” Exodus 3:12.
The Lord was showing Moses that after leaving Egypt, Israel would worship God in that very place. Thus, God was calling Moses to bring His people out of Egypt. God revealed Himself

to Moses through the burning bush.
“And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame off ire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.”
Exodus 3:2.
The bush burned with fire yet was not consumed. In the desert, bushes were common; due to the heat, they would ignite and burn through in a moment. But this bush was different: it did not burn out. We are this bush, this ordinary plant in the desert of this world. But the fire of God upon this bush distinguishes us from everything else because it is a fire that brings beauty, the glory of God. Thus, we cease to be ordinary and become different by the power of God in our lives, because of what He has done in us.
“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27.
A Moisés o Senhor disse:
“Then He said, ‘Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.’” Exodus
3:5.
“Take your sandals off your feet” was the word given to Moses. Without holiness, it is impossible to please God. There is no communion between light and darkness. Moses then turned aside to see what was happening. At that moment, something extraordinary began in his life. A communion was established between God and Moses. Later in the journey, Moses would say to the Lord: “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.”
“Then Moses said to the Lord, ‘See, You say to me, “Bring up this people.” But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, “I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.” Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.’ And He said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ Then he said to Him, ‘If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.’” Exodus 33:1215.
Moses was known by God. He was chosen by the Lord. One day the Lord called us, and just as Moses responded to God before the burning bush, we too one day said, “Here I am. I want to hear Your voice; I want to live this fellowship”.
“So When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’” Exodus 3:4. (added emphasis)
Moses understood the call of
God. This also happened to us. Our God is a God who speaks and who reveals Himself. Moses had been a prince of Egypt for 40 years. He spent 40 years in the desert so that God could show him that he was like a bush.
When Moses saw the bush burning and not consumed, and heard what God spoke to his heart, fear came upon him. And he said, “Who am I, Lord?”.
“But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?’” Exodus 3:11 (added emphasis).
There, a change of attitude took place. A change of life. Moses turned aside to see that great sight. When we have an experience with God, we turn toward His voice. “Who am I that I should go and bring Israel out of Egypt?” was Moses’ question.
How wonderful when Moses said, “Who am I, Lord?” The Lord had separated him to deliver His people. As a prince of Egypt, Moses understood that he could not deliver Israel. But with the fire of the Lord upon his life, he would deliver the people and fulfill God's entire project.
God called us by His grace. For this reason, the Lord is everything to us. And because of this, we begin a new life. In this journey, we must remove our sandals, live a life of sanctification.
God revealed Himself, and Moses feared. Moses asked God, “What is Your name?” And the
Lord responded wonderfully.
“Moreover He said, ‘I am the God of your Father – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.” Exodus 3:6.
God did not say “I was the God of Abraham.” He said: “I AM the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”. Those patriarchs had long since died. Why didn’t God say, “I was”? Because the blessing of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was the blessing of a God who has the power to give eternal life. The one who believes in Jesus will never die. God did not present Himself as “I was,” but as “I AM”. A name distinguishes people, yet God is unique: “I am the Lord, and there is no other.” . Jesus would proclaim in His ministry: “I am the Bread of Life,” “I am the Living Water”.
God acts in our lives as if He was giving us a blank check. Are you weak? “I AM” strong. Are you small? “I AM” great. Do you fear death? “I AM” the resurrection and the life.
In that bush occurred what scripture calls a theophany: a manifestation of the Lord Jesus in the Old Testament. Jesus was present. The One who appeared to Moses was the Deliverer, the Lord Jesus. It was the Angel of the Lord. God was saying: “I have heard the cry of My people.” God was hearing their cry and fulfilling the promise made to Abraham.
“And the Lord said: ‘I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know
their sorrows.” Exodus 3:7.
God does not change His prophetic plan. There are no improvisations in the work of God. Moses was on Horeb, and the Lord was showing him that the experience he was having would later be given to all Israel. Moses saw the burning bush at Horeb. Later, the people saw the mountain burning with fire and heard the thunderings. This filled the people with fear. God wanted the people to sanctify themselves because He desired to dwell among them.
Horeb points to the experience of man with God. Moses had his experience, but he needed to lead the people into the same experience. Not simply by hearing, but by knowing the “I AM”, the God who reveals Himself, who brings holy fear into the heart, who calls man to sanctification and service.
What does the Lord want from us? We are nothing. But we know a God who is everything that we are not. Moses thought he could deliver the people; God showed him he was not. The desert showed him he was nothing. Many times, man, the bush, thinks he is something. Man without the Holy Spirit is nothing. To be used by God, we must understand our nothingness. Many think that through their strength or culture they can do the work of God, but God needs men who surrender to Him, filled with the Holy Spirit. This was Moses’ lesson. This has been our lesson.
Message from Pastor Alexandre Gueiros:
The final prayer was offered by Pastor Alexandre Gueiros, followed by the laying on of hands over the church.
May the Lord bless us.
