The Lord Jesus revealed in the book of Revelation - Part IX

Summary of the president’s message

The Sunday Bible School on November 9, 2025, was held live at the Maranatha Christian Church of Praia da Costa IV, in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, Diniz Cypreste, and Wallace Rozetti.

Message from Pastor Diniz Cypreste:

We greet all the brothers with the peace of the Lord Jesus. We are now solemnly concluding

the series of studies on the names, titles, and roles of the Lord Jesus in the Book of Revelation.

Message from Pastor Gilson Sousa:

This series of studies about the titles, names, and roles of the Lord Jesus in the Book of Revelation has had the purpose of helping us love the Lord Jesus more and serve Him more faithfully.

During the preparation of this study, the Lord gave the following vision: ‘"There was a fountain of water falling from above, forming a large lake throughout the Sunday Bible

School service. As the lake filled, the waters overflowed and became a great river.". This is a promise from the Lord to us. As we conclude this theme, our goal is to know the Lord Jesus more deeply, love Him more, and long fervently for His return. The text in Revelation speaks of the pure river of water of life that proceeds from the throne of the lamb.

“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as Crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and the Lamb.” Revelation 22:1.

The Lord Jesus spoke of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit using the expression: “rivers of living water.”

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those beliving in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:38-39 (added emphasis)

Now, in Revelation, Jesus is glorified and reigning. He shows John the water

proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. This reveals that Jesus will eternally remain the source of living Waters in Heaven. The verse says:

“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”

Revelation 22:1

In the glorious vision of the New Jerusalem, John sees the city and the tree of life. This tree refers to the tree of life in Eden. It represented the person of the Lord Jesus.

“And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil..” Genesis 2:9.

The fruit of the tree of life will provide nourishment and healing for the nations. Access to the tree was blocked because of sin, but Jesus opened the way through His death and resurrection. He is the spiritual food of His church now, and He will be the eternal sustenance of the redeemed forever.

“In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” Revelation 22:2

The letter to Ephesus promises that those who overcome will eat of the tree of life. This sustenance will sustain us for all eternity.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life which is in the midst of

the Paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7 (added emphasis).

In this life, Jesus is our manna, the living bread from heaven. In heaven, He is the tree of life, sustaining us forever.

Jesus shows John the moment we will be there in heaven. What will we do in heaven? The text says that we will be serving Jesus forever. We will be before the throne. This throne is not only God's, but also the Lamb's, the one who saved our lives. The throne of grace is where our prayers arrive. When the Lamb of God died and rose again, he won this grace for us. In heaven, serving the Lord is worshiping him.

“And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.” Revelation 22:3.

There will be no more curse, and we will reign with Him. The Lord made this promise to the Faithful Church at the time of Laodicea.

“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:21.

John also saw that the city needs no sun or moon, for the glory of God and the Lamb is its light. There we will receive all the knowledge of Jesus.

“There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:5.

John, when he saw the new

Jerusalem, saw that the city was illuminated by the glory of God and by the Lamb, who is the lamp of the city.

“The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” Revelation 21:23.

Jesus promised in His ministry that whoever follows Him will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life. It is spiritual, eternal light. It is not the light created in Genesis. But eternal light, which will shine for all eternity.

Message from Pastor Wallace Rozetti:

We continue to speak of the designations of the Lord Jesus in Revelation.

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:7.

In this verse, at the end of the book of Revelation, the Lord speaks about this glorious moment, where He assures that those who keep the words

of the prophecies in this book will be blessed. The most important thing is to keep the revelation of what is recorded. Jesus also assures us that His coming would be soon. This renews our hope. If we look at the first chapter of the book of Revelation, the Lord had already made this promise.

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3.

In addition to the happiness that man receives, there is also a reward. The text says:

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” Revelation 22:12.

Each one of us, servants of God, will receive from the hands of the Lord Jesus himself the reward, the prize, the compensation for what we have accomplished for the kingdom, with the help of the Lord. In the letter to the Hebrews there is a confirmation:

“But without faith it is impossible

The Lord Jesus revealed in

the

book of Revelation - Part IX

to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6.

Another aspect is Jesus as the Alpha and Omega. The Alpha is the beginning, for He was present at the beginning of the Church, making the church blessed, the church that washed its robes in the blood of the Lamb. But He is also the Omega, the last. He is the one who began and will end all things.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city” Revelation 22:13-14

We keep our garments pure and clean through the blood of Jesus. It is the continual sprinkling upon us. This fellowship leads us to this glorious experience, for we receive the blessings resulting from Jesus' sacrifice, in order to live an eternity with Him.

Another designation is that Jesus represents the title “full of glory and hope” because He is the bright morning star. It is the new moment of the church, where He will be present on this millennial day. He promised this to the victor of the time of Thyatira.

“And I will give him the morning star.” Revelation 2:28.

Jesus sent his angel to testify, in the seven times of the Church, that He would reign with his own. He is mentioned

as the root of David. Jesus is the rightful heir to the throne. The lineage of the Messiah was in David, the one who would come to reign forever.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16.

Message from Pastor Alexandre Gueiros:

I greet you, brethren, with the peace of the Lord. We have come to the end of our study.

Our Lord Jesus is faithful and true. All His words are true.

All His promises have been fulfilled.

We will love Him more, with gratitude for the great work of salvation He has accomplished. We believe in His promises because we have already seen their fulfillment in our hearts. The more we know Him, the more we love Him. Because everything that the Lord Jesus is represents blessings for us. Everything He is, what He has accomplished and continues to accomplish in eternity,

represents blessings for us. In eternity, He continues to fight for us, until that glorious day when He will have defeated all our enemies.

We have the privilege of praising the King of kings and participating in this kingdom. Today, in part, we already participate. The kingdom of God is within each one of us. The Lord Jesus already reigns in our hearts. But this kingdom of the Lord Jesus will not end. We will enter into glory and continue to exalt our God, giving Him all glory, all honor, and all praise, because He is worthy of all worship. He is the Lord of Lords.

May the Lord bless us.
