The Lord Jesus revealed in the Tabernacle - Part III

Summary of the president’s message

The Sunday Bible School of November 30, 2025, was held live from the Communications Center of Radio and TV Maanaim in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Antônio Carlos de Oliveira.

Message from Pastor Gilson Sousa:

We greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus!

We continue studying the Tabernacle and showing everything that was prophesied concerning the Lord Jesus.

The purpose of this study is to know the Lord Jesus through the Tabernacle so that we may desire His coming even more.

“Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.” Hebrews 8:1-2.

“Who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as

Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, ‘See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.’” Hebrews 8:5.

Message from Pastor Alexandre Gueiros:

I greet the brethren with the peace of the Lord. Today we continue studying the Tabernacle and how it speaks of the Lord Jesus. It also speaks of the Church of the Lord Jesus. Through this study, our desire is that the Lord Jesus be more fully known by us, and that we understand how everything written beforehand was written for our learning.

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4.

The Word, God’s Word, the Lord Jesus, became flesh and tabernacled among us, meaning that He dwelt among us. This teaches that God’s dwelling must be in the midst of His people. And this

is indeed our reality: the Lord Jesus dwells in us. We are the temple of the living God.

The Tabernacle was the place of God’s manifestations and blessings for Israel. Some may ask, “Isn’t God everywhere?” Yes, but it is important to remember that He blesses in the midst of His people. There He dwells as the God of love, God with us.

We are blessed in Jesus, in fellowship with Jesus, through Jesus. Every blessing we receive is because of the Lord Jesus, His sacrifice and His intercession before the Father on our behalf. The Tabernacle repeatedly speaks, through symbols and figures, of the redemption we receive through Jesus. The Tabernacle accompanied the people on their journey toward Canaan. Today the same happens: the Lord is with us throughout the Church’s journey. This speaks

of the constant communion we have with the Lord by the power of the blood of Jesus.

Let us examine the materials of the Tabernacle. However, a question often arises in the hearts of many: what is the biblical basis for all of this? We know that Scripture interprets Scripture itself. And through the Word, by the work of the Holy Spirit, we understand the

meaning of all things.

The curtain was made of linen, and according to the Word itself, linen represents the righteousness of the saints. It speaks of holiness and of justification by faith.

“And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the Saints.” Revelation 19:8.

Jesus is our righteousness. He has made us holy.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1.

The fine, bright linen garment is given to the Bride of the Lamb. Copper or bronze was another material used in the temple. It symbolizes the judgment of God. The altar of burnt offering was made of wood overlaid with bronze. The silver hooks that fastened the pillars pointed to redemption. The Lord Jesus purchased us for Himself, paying the required price, His own blood, His life given at Calvary.

Wood comes from a tree, and the tree is a symbol of man:

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:1-3 (added emphasis)

The Lord Jesus was the son of a carpenter. It was normal in those days for sons to continue in their father’s trade. As a carpenter, Jesus knew how to work with wood; He knew how to work with people. He was sensitive toward human beings. He suffered and sweat blood on the Mount of Olives, when the angel came to strengthen Him. The book of Hebrews assures us that we have a High Priest before the

Father who sympathizes with us:

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15.

The pillars surrounding the Tabernacle, which were 2.20 meters (about 7 feet 3 inches) tall, were made of acacia wood. Acacia was a very high-quality wood, capable of bearing weight and resistant to decay.

The pillars surrounding the temple represent us, whose strength is in Christ Jesus.

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in

distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am week, then I am strong.” II Corinthians 12:10.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.

We are justified in Jesus because the foundations of the pillars were made of bronze or copper. These foundations speak of the righteousness of the Lord, which supports the holiness of God in the church, the fine linen curtains.

The silver hooks speak of the redemption we have in Christ Jesus. It is thanks to the copper foundations (justification), the fine linen curtains

(sanctification), and the silver hooks (redemption) that we stand, serving the Lord.

Message from Pastor Antônio Carlos de Oliveira:

I greet everyone with the peace of the Lord. We are studying the Tabernacle. Some details have already been shown. The court of the Tabernacle was separated from the desert by curtains.

From the outside, one would see the white curtains, which could easily blend with the desert sands. That is like our life: from a distance we are not

better than anyone else, yet we enjoy the holiness of God. When one enters the Tabernacle, however, one sees that within us there is a blessing from the Holy Spirit, an inner life

The curtains speak of the holiness of Jesus, which is reflected in the life of the church. Holiness first appears in the Old Testament. When the Lord made His covenant with Israel, He instructed them to be separated from the world. This separation came through His Word. After the fall, man became corrupt, but the Lord gave instructions so that man would adopt a

different conduct. In human terms, the people of God in the Old Testament had a very high ethical standard. When they walked in the laws of God, they were called a holy people. Today, through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, these principles are written in our hearts.

The inner court of the Tabernacle was very spacious. It was a place for all who desired to enter. The door was also large, made of curtains, light and easy to pass through. Jesus said:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.

Thus, there is room for all who wish to enter. The Word tells us:

“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a Kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” Exodus 19:5-6.

This is only possible through the work of the Holy Spirit. The entire Tabernacle points to the wonderful person of the Lord Jesus. The door was wide; anyone who wished could enter. Today there is a universal invitation from the Lord Jesus:

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9.

This invitation remains open. Entering through the door was personal and individual, showing the universal nature

of salvation. Salvation is open to all. But Jesus also said that the gate is narrow, narrow in its process. We receive salvation freely as a miracle from eternity, but we all have struggles, weaknesses, and battles. Salvation was given to us, but we begin a process of salvation. Therefore, we need to remain in the way, through prayer, even in the early morning hours.

Salvation is therefore a wide, open door, but a narrow path. Time passes for the servant of God, but when we look back, we see how God has worked in our life along this path.

The door was intricately made. Scripture does not show its exact design. The curtains were the work of an embroiderer, a work of perfection. The Holy Spirit is the embroiderer. He is the one who works in our lives and performs God’s work in the heart of man. It was the Holy Spirit who conceived Jesus in Mary’s womb. Jesus is the Son of Man, the Seed of the Woman who would crush the serpent’s head. Thus, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. On one hand Jesus was the son of a woman; on the other hand, He was the Son of God.

The door had four colors. These colors speak of the four Gospels: blue, scarlet, purple, and fine twisted linen. The linen was twisted to give strength—the firmness of the servant is found in holiness. These colors also point to the attributes of Jesus: Jesus is King (purple), Servant (scarlet), Man (Linen – White), and God (Blue).

Blue is the color of the heavens and represents the divinity of

the Lord Jesus. It also reveals, through the vastness of the heavens, the love of God for mankind:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His onlybegotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

Purple was made from the glands of sea mollusks. It was extremely costly; only kings could purchase it. It speaks of the royalty of Jesus. He is the Lord of the Church. He is King. Scarlet was extracted from the blood of living creatures. After oxidation, the blood would darken. Scarlet points to the sacrifice of Jesus for us.

Fine woven linen speaks of the holiness of Jesus, the perfect Man. We receive His holiness through the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament there were laws describing God’s desired conduct, but when Jesus came, He transformed us so that we would become new creatures in Christ Jesus.

The Tabernacle was positioned at the center of the tribes of Israel. All the tribes were equally distant from the Tabernacle.

When the Tabernacle moved, all the tribes moved together with it. The protection of the tribes was connected to their nearness to the Tabernacle. The entire life of the tribes revolved around the power of God. In the same way in our lives, when we walk in fellowship with God, we remain under His care and His protection.

Message from Pastor Alexandre Gueiros:

I I would like to read a passage to conclude:

“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.’” Revelation 21:3.

May the Lord bless us.
