• Junior Kindergarten/Senior Kindergarten
• Grade 1
• Grade 4
• Grade 6
• Grade 9
For all other grades, availability is known after our re-enrollment process is completed. We encourage all interested candidates to apply for any grade they are interested in at HTS.
When To Apply
Applications are welcome at any time. It is recommended that parents apply in the fall before the first round deadline of December 1, 2022. Please contact the Admissions Office when you are ready to begin the process.
Selection Criteria
At HTS, we value and develop the whole student. While our commitment to academics is our priority, students are not selected based on their academic results alone. We are looking for students who demonstrate good character and are curious about the arts, athletics, leadership and service to the community, as well as learners who are adaptable, curious and intellectually agile.
Acceptance Letters
Initial offers of acceptance will be emailed to families beginning on February 1, 2023. Admission decisions will then be made on a rolling basis until such time as classes are fully enrolled.
International Students
International students who are moving to the local area are welcome to apply to HTS. Students must be living with at least one parent for an application to be considered. An interview will be arranged once a completed application is submitted including translated transcripts or report cards. Academic testing and an interview will be arranged by the Admissions Office.
Assessment And Observation Visits
Families applying to JK to Grade 5 will be invited for a ‘Meet and Greet’ interview. Some candidates will be invited to participate in a classroom observation. During the classroom observation our Admissions Team will observe students looking for evidence of their communication, literacy, numeracy, and social development skills and assess their readiness for school. No advance preparation is required.
Families applying to Grades 6 to 12 will have both parents and students interviewed together and independently. Students will complete an assessment which will provide the Admissions Team insight into the student’s language, math and communications skills, and their learner attributes. Following this stage of the application process some candidates will be invited to participate in a classroom visit. No advance preparation is required.
