MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR GRADES 6-8
Grades 6-8 are years of immense growth and change for students. HTS teachers have the skills and the sensitivity to support the personal development of each student, making Middle School an exciting place in which to explore, learn and grow. The academic program is designed to stretch capabilities in a structured environment that establishes effective work habits and time management skills.
Interdisciplinary Projects
Middle School students, using the framework of the Rotman I-Think program, blending curriculum and realworld problem solving, work on projects with local companies. These projects range in topic and all students have the opportunity to present their solution to the company that they are working with. These projects help students not only develop key creative problem solving and collaboration skills, but also help students to feel a deeper connection to their local community while having a meaningful experience.

Middle School Trinitarian Award
The Trinitarian Award is designed to encourage student engagement and enables students to take ownership of their individual growth. The award is based upon David Kolb’s model of experiential learning and the founding HTS values of respect, integrity, confidence and leadership. Middle School students have the opportunity to earn credits through service and citizenship, physical recreation, arts, innovation, leadership and character development to put toward achieving the Middle School Trinitarian Award.
Student Directed Time
The timetable has been intentionally designed to include student directed time. Students have the flexibility to participate in specialized programs, further explore interests or access supports they may need.
