Specialty Senior School Programs
Hts Internship Program
The HTS Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to gain professional, real-world and hands-on experiences that empowers them to make an impact on their community and beyond. The program is born out of a student’s passion from one of their academic and career interests. The Internship Program begins in Grade 9 where students have multiple opportunities to explore their passions and interests, through informational interviews, career nights and potential job shadow days. As students progress in Senior School, there will be additional opportunities for students to participate in a professional-based work placement and meet with a mentor over the course of their placement. Our parents and alumni play a key role in the various mentor roles, and their wisdom and experience add a tremendous value and help prepare students for the changing workforce and for life beyond HTS.

The Hive Internship Program
This program is a cooperative education credit completed in the context of a co-curricular program. The program provides students with the opportunity to learn how to prepare, engage and succeed in the workforce. Students have partnered with STEM Minds to develop an innovative software program, leveraging skills in animation, graphic design, project management and design thinking. HTS is a member of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) Network, in which students have opportunities to solve real-world problems in a professional context while being mentored by employers. Extended French Certificate
HTS offers an Extended French Certificate to students entering Grade 9 from a French Immersion or a Frenchlanguage school. Our goal is to develop French-language knowledge and skills at a high level while continuing to provide an understanding and appreciation of francophone culture in Canada and around the world. By the end of the four-year program, students will not only have gained the ability to converse freely on familiar topics, but will also be able to speak, read and write in French confidently across a wider range of disciplines and subject areas.
